When the Stalingrad campaign was presented it generated a huge hype, many bought early access to play but with the merge the weapons and squads don’t matter so I’m here to talk about its map that needs to be improved since many say that its gameplay is terrible, the points of interest don’t stand out and that it doesn’t feel like a real urban war, So I propose that the map be remastered so that the gameplay and experience improves, it could also boost interest among Steam users as soon as the game officially returns to the store
if the devs doen´t have any idea how to improve stalingrad i can help with that with some observations
Well, first of all, the fights feel more urban because the distances between a capture point are far apart to the point that it doesn’t look like urban warfare but field warfare, so you don’t need to change the capture points, but add buildings and debris everywhere and don´t forget about locations of interest , making any gap a sniper’s nest, then it is noticed that the city is on fire with burning houses, burning Tanks by default and that more locations of interest will be added to give that aura to give that aura that you are really there with your rifle and the luck accompanying you not to die, and finally that the streets are narrow and difficult for the tankers and that the bombings are less effective
Finally, machine gunners and sniper nests were everywhere, as the defenders of the city were scattered everywhere, ambushing or attacking in places you wouldn’t imagine
Well, provide your own opinion. What is terrible? How to improve it? Don’t just say it is terrible without providing any information. How should dev know how to improve the map?
i’m not really mad about stalingrad having sort of " bad maps " ( i don’t find them terrible, but i don’t really… love them with all my hearth either ),
but it’s the fact that stalingrad it’s missing MAJORITY of maps.
or rather, areas.
areas like:
mamayev kurgan, gumrak station, gumrak airfield, grain elevator, chemical factory, western steppes, barricade / gun factory, grain factory, pavlov house, commisar’s house, and many other locations…

If you need areas of interest like machine gun and sniper nests all over the place as it was in real life
and that the vehicles do not have the same effectiveness as if they were in open areas since what really defined the battles there were not the tanks or planes but the infantry is more the tanks were easy prey in those places and the planes almost useless to neutralize or soften the enemy defenses so the combats would have to be mostly with submachine guns to take down the greatest amount of enemies and snipers to slow down the advance as Mgs alike
I agree with your post and opinions. Stalingrad isn’t even Stalingrad. I don’t feel the urban rush and capitulation whenever we gain or lose an objective. It doesn’t feel like Stalingrad.
My only gripe with tractor plant is the fact that they only use like 30% of the actual map. I have explored the map in the editor and it is unbelievable how much they left out
Stalingrad maps are very urban and close quaters oriented “if the players chose to force the gameplay into it” - there are many open spaces, but you rarely need to move into the open.
Its rather weird, i never enjoyed Stalingrad maps all that much because its too easy to move around the map without actually fighting the enemy, the amount of rubble and hard cover makes flanking terribly easy, which in return will cause a very chaotic gameplay.
They only need to add more maps to Stalingrad which have a more obvious frontline structure, then the old maps wouldn’t be all that bad.
