I often get in situation when my bolt sniper is empty and i need just one or 2 shots. But i could reload all 5 bullets or break reloading by switching weapons what takes time with switching back. So i suggest to stop reloading by pressing shoot or pressing reloading key again or let reload just one bullet per one short reload key press and whole magazine for one long press

that is already a thing.
you have to press twice the fire button in order to stop the reload.

Not a sniper rifle but I always used to do that with WEAPON EXPUNGED TO KEEP SWEATS AWAY but it was really really overpowered.

it just interrupts the reload and allows you to then fire if you press again after the two tap

You can even press R another time
