It’s debuff is present on basic T-34, T-34 STZ, and T-34 57mm. It sounds like a bug to me not a feature. While KV-1 reloads just fine. Can’t test it on basic T-34/1941 as it doesn’t have hatch for commander. It seems like reload speed is bugged and also doesn’t seem to use loading speed perks.
the commander is the loader
because he’s out of the hatch the reload time is slower
its not a bug
Hmmm then who loads the gun? Or he does it with his legs?
Can this be reflected in the in-game UI, for example can his crew role say commander/loader, because it’s unclear of each crew members role in some tanks.
When the commander is outside using the hatch, then the gunner load the gun. Just like when the commander dies.
Thats one of the realistic limitations of some tanks.
The game punishes reload speed if the loader dies, because then the game “mimics” how it would be like if the gunner and other crew members instead would need to reload.
Early T34 and many early soviet tanks unlike most German tanks had no dedicated loader or radio operator. The commander had to be a multi task master to make full use of his tanks full potential - which is why soviet tanks were used very poorly prior to Stalingrad.
Despite T34 being an excellent tank design, most were lost to poor outdated tactics.
its a perfect mirror of the Soviet Union and communism.
A tank excellent on paper, cheapest design that still offers good armour, gun and mobility, however the human factor was completely disregarded.
Poor visibility, bad optics, often no radio, poor ventilation, poor stability, impossible to use 5th gear ect…
Which ultimately made the tank inferior to other tanks of its era.
There were few officers left after the Great Purge. Although this issue was resolved towards the end of the war, it caused very heavy losses early in the war.
But then why his loading perks doesn’t decrease loading times? Bug is still there just affecting tank in different way than i wrongly specified at first.
Because he is in the gunner place, not in the place dedicated to the loader (which is either commander or loader depending on the tank design)
Absolutely, there are so many factors why the Soviets failed miserably prior to Stalingrad - but ultimately they learned from their mistakes the hard way and turned the sinking ship around just in time.
I kinda hate it when Yankees talk about how they won WW2 - their contribution and sacrifice was nothing compared to the Soviets, heck even the Brits did some very important work - the fact that Germany lost a huge part of their airforce trying to attack Britain ultimately meant Germany had issues during the entire war with air superiority.
There are obviously alot of pieces that lead to Germanies defeat, but ultimately its the Soviets that did the dirty work.
I know its kinda off topic, but that war was pure madness, people don’t realise it often enough.
If Britain had surrendered in 1940, the Axis would have became unstoppable thanks to the endless resources they could have freely gathered from the colonies of Belgium and Netherlands alone.
Then who loads damn gun? A ghost? Stalin’s firm hand? Hull MG should be disabled and it should be MG gunner that loads that damn gun. It’s obvious that commander can’t load gun when he is outside the tank. And Loader don’t use in game reloading perks.
Then again, the gunner… but as he is in the gunner place, the loader perks does not have any effect.
And how is the hull machine gunner supposed to access the gun breach from his seat ? It’s not like the commander is outside, he is just standing on his seat.
that’s just silly, so he can operate both gun and load it at same time
just move his ass from original position and become loader, in game after loader dying it’s usually MG gunner that take his position
yes he can but with a 100% reload time penalty as he is not properly trained/positioned for it to be efficient at it.
unless he hull mg can be controled but that is a diffrent problem.
Honestly the people who lump the whole success of the allied war effort on either the yank or soviets are naïve at best.
It was arguably one of the single greatest attempts to unify efforts globally from countless nations and people.
Well, I wouldn’t exactly say that. More like it was advantageous to the respective parties.
Classic, the enemy of my enemy is my friend
yeah I was struggling for the right words, still none the less, mightily impressive.
