Reintroducing the Stalingrad Full Access Pass

The Problems with the previous system and the Full Access Pass:

Before I start to address why this system should be included, I think it’s best to first discuss why the current Full Access Pass fails in the Campaign System.

The current Campaign System with the full access pass limits certain units and weaponry already available in the game. Things like the M30 Luftwaffe Drilling, Panzer III N, ZH-29, Kiraly 39M, TOZ-B, T-34, SVT-40, as well as limiting certain squads and soldiers only being available for $30. This system limited certain mechanics of the game already available in other campaigns while providing very similar weaponry and vehicles in other campaigns. The system also introduced 4x EXP gain as well as additional slots, making the campaign a breeze for paying players. I think certain elements of this Access Pass did work. After asking and interviewing players on the game, I found that most players who were encouraged to pay for the Full Access Pass were looking to buy certain unique weapons or use the 4x EXP to obtain the unique weapons for the campaign as quick as possible, mentions of the StuG III F, MKB42, MP-717(r), Pz.IV G, Kiraly 39M, IAR-81C, T-34E, PPSH-41, Thompson M21/28 (box magazine), KV-1 (L-11), and the AVT-40.

Not all of these weapons are in the Full Access Pass, however, players who recently bought the Full Access Pass in this last year have noted that they want to acquire these unique weapons, and players said weapons already available in other campaigns were harder to grind for in other campaigns compared to the Stalingrad campaign. With that in mind, I think it would be a good idea to try to reintroduce monetization in the game that allows players to expand their arsenals substantially and not with the $60 price tag of current premium Squads.

The New Full Stalingrad Pack System

With the Merge Update around the corner, certain weapons and vehicles will be lost with the update as the Stalingrad Campaign system will be completely overhauled. Notably with the new Tech Tree System, the following features will be removed from the game:

Assault Engineers (The Following will be revoked of Assault Weapons)
*403rd Engineer Battalion (USSR)
*397th Seperate Engineer Battalion (USSR)
*336th Pioneer Battalion (Germany)
*80th Pioneer Battalion (Germany)
T-34E STZ
Pz.IV G
Thompson M21/28 (box magazine)
Mannlicher M93
Breda Mod. 30
MP-717(r)

I believe that these weapons, instead of being removed from obtaining ever again, should be monetized how they were intended and kept within the game. Instead of these weapons being forever lost, now they are exclusively available within the game as side content that players can collect, let’s look at the MP-717(r) for example.

First thing First, these weapons are integrated into the proper tech tree, while the MP-717(r) may not be balanced in this place, we will put it here as an example.

Upon opening the folder, the weapon will be locked completely from researching and buying, however, you can still view the item and look at its stats. Very Boldly will show that it is apart of a pack you need to buy in order to unlock this weapon. This weapon will still have to be researched and bought with silver even after buying the pack.

For $30 USD the following will be included within the pack:

Pz.II F Premium Squad
HT-130 Premium Squad
Tech Tree Unlocks:
MP-717(r) For Germany
Mannlicher M93 For Germany
Pz.IV G For Germany
Thompson M21/28 (box magazine) For USSR
Breda Mod. 30 For USSR
T-34E STZ For USSR

*Plus possible more unique weapons to add to the appeal to the pack.

If the developers properly add enough unique weapons to the pack as well as price it well or add additional content to said packs, I believe this can be a very good way to monetize the game. These packs should NOT be more powerful than the weapons in the base game, but instead add additional content and weapons available for players. Instead of the aggressive marketing of 5 man premium squads for $60, now players can earn multiple of these unique weapons and use them on any soldiers they’d like.

Be sure to criticize and leave feedback on your thoughts below, I know the system isn’t perfect and some may not like it at all, but I want to improve and help expand this game like many others here.

I doubt these things will be “forever lost”. That’s not how Gaijin works.

If you look at war thunder, gaijin removed four vehicle from the german tech tree : Panther II, Tiger 105, Flakpanzer Coelian and Maus. Even though the Maus can be acquired every year for war thunder’s birthday, the other three are gone for good for anyone who did not get them before their removal.

A Similar fate is to be expected for the Stalingrad’s waepon imo.

Yeah, because the reason is they’re mostly completely made up.
Gaijin “removed” way more vehicles than those 4. You are manipulating with facts, classic fallacy.

I am sorry if I made a mistake, but these are the only four Tech Tree vehicle that I have been removed and that I am aware of. If there are any other, feel free to provide examples.

Yeah, calling something “tech tree” even though it’s mostly behind paywall is kinda werd. But okay.

They are not removing stalingrad stff because they are fake and made up. So comparing them to panther II and so is complete nonsense. They have nothing in common. Completely different things.
If you don’t see any difference, okay. Whatever, I honestly couldn’t care less.

Well as far as I am aware, you had to actually research them in the progression tree (even though you had to pay to access them)

I understand your point, sure these weapons are not on the same level as panther II and tiger 105, yet like them they will be unobtainable after the merge.

I was just trying to add a conteragument to this statement. Gaijin has developped the habbit to relly on FOMO for a lot of their stuff. When they removed equippement it is usually gone for good.

Take a look at this page which list the different vehicle that once were available in war thunder but that you cannot obtain anymore : Category:Hidden vehicles - War Thunder Wiki

As you can see Tu-2, gladiator and SB-2M variant were real planes, and yet are now unobtainable. Even some vehicle that were locked beihind paywall like german P-47 or US XP-38G for instance.

Also I am just talking without any negative undertones, no need to be aggresive mate.

I would be happy if those weapons from Stalingrad came back to the game (maybe for an event?), but I won’t be surprise if it was not the case.

MUST MY BEAUTIFUL PPSH BE DESECRATED BEYOND INTENTIONALLY NERFING IT

Lot of did exist US tanks got removed sometime before I started playing the game and now I have no way of obtaining them. Makes me mildly upset. I want the T30 and M26E1 darn it

we will probably see some of them in future events, in premium squads and possibly in other deals similar to your proposal.
I already proposed bringing Stalingrad full-access pack back for a while but for some reason devs are not interested.
