I think it would be nice to add some side objectives to invasion gamemode to (hopefully) take advantage of otherweise unused parts of the map. They could provide some extra buffs and debuffs to both deffenders and atackers. This also allows for some interesting scenarios where deffenders need to make a counter atack.
Side objectives could be things like a capture point or a bomb. It’s important that both deffenders and atackers should have to actively fight for it (unlike the baloons on the Normandy Airfield map). They should be conected to stages of the invasion (so side objecrive from stage 3 becomes inactive if main objective 3 is taken etc).
Possible scenarios:
deffenders need to plant a bomb near a bridge to remove one tank slot for atackers for this stage (don’t know if possible)
atackers need to secure an area to gain flat 50% progress of capturing the main objective in this stage (don’t know if possible)
atackers need to plant a bomb near enemy bunker to get extra tickets
deffenders need to capture a favorable position to remove tickets from atackers
atackers need to capture an area to get additional main spawnpoint on the flank for this stage
etc.

I thought about it as an addition to the invasion gamemode but maybe it should be a separate gamemode based on the invasion.
I want a Tank or a truck escort mission where npc would be driving it on a predefined path like in Wolfenstein ET.
Ofc you won’t be able to fully destroy that vehicle it will only be immobilized and engineers would need to repair it to let it start moving again.
Then after you finish that objective to take that vehicle to x point another mission will start with planting explosive on some objective, and then the last one steal intel from the vault or something as a final objective all on the same map.
Side objectives should be more randomised and have more impact on the battlefield, like every 3 minute in battle one of those kind of things should happen
Friendly or enemy bomber formation spawn and need be defended or destroyed
Friendly or enemy special radio Man spawn and need be killed or defended before/until a powerful artillery barrage happen
Friendly or enemy recon plane arrive
Fortify or conquer a position for unlock a new spawn zone
Obliviously the list can be longer but, as for the rewards detract or add reinforcement should be sufficient and this can even open the possibility of add reinforcement to defenders in invasion because as attacker they can get them by side objectives
Example why Wolf ET did it the best with various objectives and new ways for engineers to shine. All classes had it’s uses including snipers that were kinda like spies of TF2 but with smgs that overheated and FG42 for mid ranges.
I think the burden on the top 3 players is big enough
Unless it can be ensured that there are at least 6 normal people per game rather than the same number or more casual players
Otherwise this mechanic just makes the game more unbalanced
But specific building damage mechanics for bridges or major roads should be nice
Add some battlefield changes
