Machinegun emplacements have become a tad more ubiquitous since the High Caliber update introduced HMGs for gunner squads.
I don’t really see a need to restrict MG nests to Engineer II squads, especially since every nation getting their own nationality’s MGs with more limited arcs than the old MG 42s meant they were now balanced.
If HMGs can be used by both Gunner I, Gunner II and Gunner III squads, is there really a need to place the same restrictions on Engineer I squads?
Wait there is a postive thing, with this is sure they gonna give us an event squad or another premium squad and those squad become the first costum AT squad made by dev
We dont have a single AT costum squad (premium squad)
I am saying that AT gunners who have an engineer will be able to build 88s as Germans for example. Kekfox already stated this when big calibre update got released.
You can build them in addition to the HMG nest, so that there are more mounted MGs for your team to use at once.
They don’t break sandbags, so you can set up sandbags around them in such a way that you are more protected without having to worry about accidentally breaking them like you would with the HMG.
They take up a little less space than the HMG, so odd little positions are easier to set up in.
They still shoot lots of tracers, but give less pronounced visual indicators than the HMG. Primarily this is important when hiding your position from aircraft. If their team is actively marking its one thing, but if they aren’t, then its up to the pilot to figure out where to drop ordinance. HMGs are VERY easy to track, whereas standard MGs are less so.
Something I got to thinking about last night after reading this:
How about Engineer 1 squads get access to the MG nest that currently exists, and Engineer 2 squads get access to a similar one but with a sandbag window built up around the top of it? This way there is a definite difference, both get access to the MG nest, but the Engineer 2 version has slightly higher survivability.
Especially since you cant really build a windowed sandbag wall in any other way.
