Regarding real damage

Enlisted’s weapons have a damage system determined by numbers, but how about determining damage more realistically instead? For example, in the current environment, even if you get hit by a single shot from a pistol, it doesn’t have much of an impact, but I would like to see effects added such as affecting movement and aiming depending on where you get hit, or dying from blood loss if you leave an injury untreated.

I think the current system is fine. It doesnt have to be overly complicated considering how arcady enlisted is

For single player games this would be cool, but for multiplayer I would worry about it hampering performance. One of the good things about Enlisted is how much of a potato of a PC can actually run it at minimum settings.

Agree with @iso_seppo123 on this one. I think we should not complicate the system too much.

I think the real problem your identifying is that pistol does so little damage. Getting hit in the face should just do more. Especially for revolvers which are pretty much unusable.

tbh revolvers should be the bolt action of pistols, a hard hitting slow reloading weapon.

I think Enlisted’s sibling, War Thunder, does a pretty good job with location-based damage when it comes to vehicles.

I think that Location Based Damage would work out pretty well in Enlisted as a Hybrid system - the soldier you’re currently controlling gains LBD and maybe a Death Cam like Ground Battles in War Thunder or the hunting review in Call of the Wild:TheHunter¹ (xray image of a bullet passing through your spleen - cue OOoooo Meme guy here) before you respawn

But even without that extra detail, if you treat the squaddie you’re currently controlling as a small bit of Hero Class, LBD would allow (for instance) you to be shot in the upper right chest - painful, but (again Hero Class, so a bit Cinematic) not going to take you completely out of combat.
e.g. Can’t use your rifle, gotta use your pistol, in your left hand (less accuracy, more barrel weave, etc.)

On the flip side, (devil’s advocate my own thought to validate it) the reality is essentially that if you shoot a human being anywhere, they’re no longer a warfighter and are now a casualty, so any actual bullet hole in you should (realistically) end your day as an effective combatant. That shoulder wound I mentioned realistically could have you hiding behind a door with that pistol in your left hand.

And now my devil’s advocate has talked me into making medics more viable - if you get a minor wound like that - maybe you keep your squad in reserve and ensure that the enemy doesn’t retake the position - while Medic Squads follow behind the main front and tend to you, get you patched up, and you continue with the rest of your squad. Especially important when there are SO many squads that only get a limited number of ‘slots’ for Engineers or Snipers or Heavy Machinegunners, etc. If you get shot in the shoulder as your Squads LMG guy, maybe you want to hold up for the Medics rather than Run and Gun (down) your other Squaddies in the meat grinder?

I agree too with iso and Dirk but if they do a separate mod whats realistic mod so realistic and arcade(current) maybe its a good idea…

They shouldn’t be more powerful. The M1895 nagant fires 7.62x38R which has a really long case but fires a very light bullet at roughly the same speed as a 9x19 so its weaker. The stats clearly show that, its weaker as it should be. The Colt new service and M1917 both shoot .45 ACP and do the same damage as a 1911 which makes sense. The Enfield MK 1 uses .38 SW which is pretty weak and it shows, it deals less damage than 9x19. Enfield MK 4 shooting the .455 webley, looks a lot like .45 ACP but its rimmed. The chamber pressure is a lot different for .455 howewer. It’s loaded with a much lighter powder load so its actually weaker than .45 ACP. The thing is with WW2 revolvers is that they were not powerful “hand cannons” and weren’t more powerful than semi autos at that time.

Enlisted is meant to be an arcade style of video game, there are numerous other WW2 games that feature more realistic damage

i would argue that idea is stupid, but then again a g43 does half the damage of a kar98 for magical reasons, so /shrug

It fits with how they have balanced weapons.
