I’m so used to emptying my magazine because of Red Orchestra 2 and Insurgency where the counter counts the amount of magazines instead of the rounds on it which is more realistic than just tactical reload every time you shoot a few rounds on an enemy.
No - there is no need - Ammo crates fill up your reserve ammo to the maximum limit - which means your 1/2 full magazine is that much more ammo than you had when you started.
Eg if you have a semi-auto with 40 rounds - you start the game with 10 loaded and 30 in reserve.
If you fire 25 you now have 5/10 - if you refill you have 5/40 - 5 rounds more than you had at the start of the game. this is quite reasonable in context of the game.
That is exactly what it does do - as per my previous post - your partial magazine is actually extra over-and-above your full ammo capacity!
If it really matters that much, when you resupply, just shoot everything out of your mags and then grab the ammo
Yeah you literally only have to empty one mag to be able to refill
Not if I have 5 magazines with 2 bullets each in my inventory, then I have to empty one mag, reload, empty another and so on. There is literally no need for a player to stand next an ammo crate and shoot for a minute just so he can take a whole new mag. I don’t get why one of the largest threads is about “just let us refill half empty mags with ammo crate” when this has no downsides, only improves player experience and is easy to code.
