So we’ve tried raising the rate of fire, and we’ve tried raising the damage output. However, neither have really captured the interest of the devs or the players.
So here’s my final suggestion; just reduce the visual recoil on all semi autos by 50% (base). There have been so many times where I’ve been beaten out by a bolt action because it could do a follow up shot faster than my semi auto.
In what world should this happen? It’s also worth pointing out that the full auto versions have less recoil too (or it’s just because they fire faster and it becomes smoother).
Either way, semi autos need more love, either through higher damage, higher ROF, or probably more important, 50% less visual recoil. This would then make them a better option than a full auto weapon due to lighter recoil, and they should hopefully do follow up shots faster than a bolt action, without encroaching upon their damage, and leaving them relevance in tier II.
