Reposting this suggestion as I think it would be a great improvement over the current mount mechanic.
In the Red Orchestra (and its spin-offs) series, your character’s aim would automatically stabilize when holding his weapon by a surface or object, to represent weapon resting. (There was still a minimal amount of ‘shaking’ though, similar in rhythm to breathing, IIRC)
Bipod deployment worked simply by being in a location where otherwise you’d be resting your weapon, and pressing the aim button.
the game already locks your view to where you can aim, i dont exactly see how it would be diffrent to what already exists(havent played RO so cant speak from experience)
since while mounted you swivel around your bipod and otherwise around your person making it automatic would probably be very annoying
i think thet currently enlisted bipod mechanics are fine as a base, but do need more lienience, both in terms of mounting positions and mvoement while mounted
With this system your aim would not be locked to a certain angle, unless you have a bipod deployed.
More lenience with bipod deployment angles/positions would also be required for at least the bipod deployment part to be an improvement.
