The new system of silver order soldier recruitment, and no random bronze recruitment has brought the game to a halt. As it stand, most of the player base cannot recruit new soldiers, let alone random ones. Silver orders are too hard to come by, and build up to fill squad recruitments for classes such as engineer, bomber, etc, and the lack of random recruitment now implemented means no other means of filling squads. I now have atm, all my squads maxed out for size, and classes picks within each squad, but no means to add a single class, or expand my squad size by adding any class. I can no longer recruit to replace existing soldiers with terrible randomized starting stats either.
How does this effect in game play? Glad I asked myself. In Tunisia, as an example, the majority of players do not even have a engineer in any squads other the their sole engineer squad (if they leveled up to engineers). What this results in is any capable players playing on defense having unlimited tickets, while the offense bleeds tickets without most of the players on the team having the ability to make forward bases, and apply quick pressure. As a result, and the game developers know this, defense is winning in Tunisia at an exceedingly high rate as compared to other campaigns. Playing on defense, I simply look out for the other team making any forward spawn at all, and simply pressure it till I take it out, and the offense is usually crippled until a player can reach another engineer squad, survive getting forward through our defense and attempt to make and hold another spawn. Any capable defensive team should win. As for the other campaigns, starting players are of course crippled by the new system, and are unable to recruit, and fill squads as they level them.
What I would suggest is returning to the randomized soldiers for bronze tickets, but cap those at either 1 or 2 stars if your goal with these past changes was to increase grinding. Silver tickets should be both rewards for filling challenges, but also goal oriented. I would suggest a silver ticket for weapons and soldiers at a fixed exp amount that is fairly achievable for lower tier players in free to play. The amount of exp should be at a rate that compliments their needs to recruit, and replace terribly random rolled soldiers. Random bronze recruitment would solve this, but silver should return to having a random star amount between 2 and 4. I think its reasonable for mediocre players playing a few rounds to get a solver in the lower half of the leaderboard per match every 3 or 4 games, as a solid return. You want to avoid players having half empty squads bereft of the classes they are unlocking for their squads, like it is now. The is zero doubt removing random bronze soldier recruitment was a terrible misstep, and should be reimplemented right away. Priority number 1 actually. Silver can be whatever at that point, it really should be what it was, a random chance at recruiting a higher star soldier that may, or may not have be a good randomly rolled option. If not it can be sent to rear for the bronze tickets.
Thank you for posting that. I read that, but the idea is to grow the game and player base. The reason for my post is to make them aware of the actual instant consequences of this change away from random bronze recruitment for the payer base. It literally stopped most of the free to play players from being able to fill squads, and recruit classes. The game is playable to them, but not worth playing, if you get my drift. I was suggesting they should implement random bronze, at the least, right away. Literally do it today to avoid the issue from being a problem with new players, or players starting new campaigns. This change was so cripplingly bad, they should revert it, and continue with their new plan as they stated. Makes the most sense. They still can do what they want, without making those category of players feel it isnt worth the effort and time playing. To be clear I am not effected if I want to play Normandy, or Moscow. I capped everything for both armies in both campaigns. I am doing Tunisia, and this change made me see just how bad it is for people to even attempt to fill squads, and play. I don’t NEED the change back, I am pointing out that they are really hurting the percepetion of the game with anyone new, or trying out new campaigns.
It is true. I play this game so much it is probably a problem lol. Winning comes down usually to players being better one side or the other, with some maps contributing advantages. That is why you see so many tweeks by the company to map spawns, capture timers, etc. Some maps skew. In Tunisia you can already see that a couple maps skew heavily to offense, or defense. The ones that skew to offense are the ones that I usually see as wins when I play on offense, and the few losses I ever take on defense. A better team despite the challenges usually will win. A better team on a skewed map, should win.
I use Tunisia as my example because the changes had the most effect there. It is the newest campaign, has the most lower level players, and the least fleshed out squads involved. Forward spawns matter. Preventing them matters in other campaign maps. You want them on offense to open angles and apply pressure. You want to deny them on defense. If you don’t have engineers in squads you cant make spawns, refill ammo, make At guns to deal with tanks, for either side. What you see in Tunisia atm is defensive teams with any skill depriving the forward buildings on maps in the attempt to force the offense into crossing open ground, without much fear of the offense being able to produce forward spawns (due to a complete lack of people being able to even obtain them). If the offense happens to have a couple players that have engineer squads at all, they have to reach positions to make those spawns matter. Some do, some don’t. On maps where there are a few players that have reached engineer squad level, they do better. This is all obvious stuff, so no need to go more into it. Bottom line is that it has an effect. Also, people cannot fill their existing squads with the extra MG’s, assaulters, ATs, etc. Just that alone is reason to make the changes back till the game is ready. Remember, I don’t need the changes, I’m all set for two campaigns, this about noticing the direct effects this has to newer players, and new campaigns. I love the game and do not want newer players turned off by something crippling that is completely avoidable.
Honestly no offence to the developers they really should of implemented these changes when they pushed the update that removed the random bronze troop order. The update didn’t really seem complete as there was no other way to obtain silver orders for troops.
Its just left players with a bad taste in there mouth epically newer ones and probably turned people away from the game.
I do hope they do not do something like this again as its just going to piss the existing player base off and when a game is in a beta stage its probably not best to do that
