Reality strikes back

You know, guns are not that fault-tolerant in reality, as we can see them in Enlisted.

I thought about one way to make everything much more chaotic/more realistic/less predictable and, at the end - more fun - some weapon chance to jam/being damaged/explode.

So let’s say we have some base gun, no updates(0 stars) applied and this gun will have

  1. 5% chance to jam
  2. 1% chance to being damaged
  3. 0.25% chance to explode(with some dmg to the weapon holder and gun vanishing)

Meanwhile:

  1. One star(first level upgrade) will reduce those chances twice.
  2. Second star will remove those chances at all.
  3. Last star will do nothing(since it’s already OP with +dmg buff)

Same thing may be done with tanks.

About how I see fix of jam/being damaged:
Jam will require to resend the bullet to the chamber(or reload the shell in the tank)
Damage will require to fully reload the mag along with bullet resending(for tank it could vary between fully and partial damage of the gun chamber and need for repair of it plus shell reload).

Also, I hope you will undesrtand that incorrect shell explosion 100% should end up with tank explosion and “Unlucky one” achievement receiving XD

Percentages are kinda random, so they should be discussed.

P.S. this mechanic could be introduced during the April 1st with some    explosion visuals. XD

You can only pick one of these.

No.

Why not?
Is that so fun to get into the back of enemies and just do boring wipe with smg/mg?
Or opposite case - you were on reload while someone tried to kill you and his gun explode - that will be the event XD

Thats pretty much the game ?

And why limit the game with repetative, common stuff, if you could bring something new, atleast as an April 1st event?(to see if ppl will like this mechanic)

Plus no one will say that THIS IS UNREALISTIC

Yeah, great idea.

Then the developers should implement a random chance for cramps in your arms or legs, which will prevent you from aiming your weapon or sprinting for a certain amount of time. The higher the tier of the soldier, the lesser chance of these cramps.

We already have them, they called package drops XD

Stupid Idea

This game already struggles with getting new players to join/ keeping these new players after a week and you want to put this in the game? Where should I put the tombstone for this grave? This would kill it for veterans and new players a like.

hahahah
ye random explosions in your face.
from weapons.

at least it would be innovative.
and a meme.

there was jam in the old enlisted, and it was not really funny for gameplay

Let’s not be too hasty people. There’s plenty of scope for other random events.

How about an attack of hiccups as you are trying to sneak up on someone. Or a massive sneeze as your sniper takes that perfect shot. Maybe a nasty splinter as you climb through a window? A jammed door? Stuck window?

And then there’s vehicles… Broken gearbox, flat tyre, flat battery, running out of fuel. A randomly opening door that deposits the driver on the ground as he takes a corner at speed! That would be genuinely hilarious

I’m definitely all in for more random events.

Based on what I see here, many players struggle with basic things such as flying a plane like a plane and like an al-Qaida hijacker or building rallies, and that one is already one of the repetitive “common” things here.
So I wouldn’t start making things more “unique and complicated”.

Actually, there was a similar mechanic back during CBT where, for some godforsaken reason, only BA rifles had the chance to either jam or have issues during cycling (don’t know the exact mechanic anymore). The chance was very low to the point most people didn’t even know it was in the game until they removed it.

You know, I was gonna shit on this, but somehow I feel this is still better than the current GO shenanigans.

Still, these mechanics can work in a singleplayer game like far cry, or they can work in a full milsim like arma. However enlisted is neither of those and at its heart is an arcade type game with merely some “grounded” elements.

Perhaps a mechanic where overheating a gun can lead to these types of malfunctions, you know to let you overheat a gun at the cost of it having a failure, but that would be the only way I see such a type of mechanic fitting in this style of game.
