we really need a rank based match making because WTF is this bs
Rank in game is just an indicator of how many matches you’ve played, it’s not really a valid metric to add as an extra matchmaking rule
But should there be a ranked match-making system?
The guy who ranked Marshall is still alot better than a private. The more match you play, the more experienced you gain. Is it fair to pit an all star team of veteran against a bunch of noobs?
while you are correct and I agree with it and I will say this when people mention it , this is also a losing argument due to perception of it mattering mixed with some factor of truth. While its not a good way it is away considering you lose rank when you lose, unless you have a Battle Hero. In a game like that, you aren’t guaranteed a battle hero outside of top place on your team.
Honestly removing the ranks from the scoreboard and the killfeed may be a good idea for perception. I’d probably replace it with the class icon that they did the most BP with at the end of the game.
I’d also consider making it an option to prefer solo players only if you are solo.
I would say No Enlisted is a casual game and doesn’t need something like ranked matchmaking unless they make it a separate playlist for that ranked mode and there are rewards for it but again it wouldn’t work with the enlisted cause in ranked matchmaking you must give every soldier the same selection of weapons to evaluate their skill level and that basically turns it into a COD
Play with friends its gonna be breath of fresh air you are not going to worry about sub-bot players
or just leave the match you are not obligated to do anything for a team like that which beside you didn’t make any rally points
I left 12 minutes in and the enemy team took the first cap with no casualties
But what if your friends that are up when you are gaming are mostly those “sub bot players” /sarcasm
To be honest i have no ideas how to distinguish bot from normal, if there is real I am questioning is there a limit to how many bot can be allocated to a team
some players are just not good at the game so a bot can “outperform them” … as for how to distinguish. If you are in the game before the start (pre spawn) and view the scoreboard, bots dont populate til the first spawn to fill the slots. Also, IIRC, you cannot send a friend request to a bot. There are other ways to determine such as score and such, but as I stated, some players are just bad skill wise or knowledge wise, so its not a very good way to determine.
If you’re so determined to find out whether you’re playing with bots or humans or not just ask the players in the lobby to do something bot cannot do like ask for a rally point or I need ammo
Real players dont tend to answer. It is like talking to an wall
Probably because they don’t speak English, or they are playing with friends on discord
Or they just dont care. They are too busy playing the game and they have no time to answer. I tested this in 50 player custom match lobby and no one answered
Slight difference between Enlisted Rank and rank matchmaking
Not fully?
I mean, I kind of agree, currently players above certain level just basically never loose ranking points (it must be a REALLY rough game for me to not get a single award for something) so it is true that as long as you play enough you will be martial ranked…but even then, the rank score is not capped at 300, so you could naively rank just by how many rank points people have
(It’s a bit goofy this season too, as the PvE enjoyers managed to get max rank in like 2 weeks by stomping bots over and over too, so the skil to high rank corellation kind of got even more tenuous)
And since with having at least some form of skill level taken into matchmaking - it should be at least a little bit harder for even good players to consistently rake in enough medals to guarantee rank never goes down
You could also have people get 1 rank point per 1 medal, at all ranks - currently it doesnt matter how many you get, 1 medal for “best melee” which you can get by randomly meleeing 3 people is worth 1 extra rank point, exactly as much as gettin 12 different medals (and i think you can only get the extra point only once you reach officer ranks, right?)
Overall I kind of agree we need at least some form of player skill matchmaking though, those turbostacked matches are just sad and infuriating, often for either side (at least in my experience)
I might be trippin, but I’m convinced bots gained ability to build engineering constructions a while back, at least for a while
A “ranked matchmaking” or ranked lobby is different from Enlisted Rank
All I’m saying is you could use the player ranking to at least prevent worst stacks from happening
Rank is meaningless as you can farm it by playing the winning side or deserting before losing ect.
What would actually help is not matching a bunch of BR3 players against a team of BR5.
Squads fighting other squads with the same amount of members.
