This is a video showing the most serious problem with machine guns
The random spread of machine guns is making it less advantageous to use machine guns Because of the random spread, it’s not right to aim and fire a weapon Since ordinary rifles and other guns do not have the same random spread as machine guns, machine guns are becoming less positioned Deleting machine gun random spreads will make the game more casual and increase the frequency of machine gun use, leading to various game experiences
They should also change the time in which they are heated
One of the features that he loved about Stalingrad was that the Maxim could last more than 10 seconds without getting hot.
It makes a lot of sense that a machine gun has a much more spread and recoil than any other gun, is a fact, is reality, learn to use the machine gun in a different manner than the rest of the guns and you will start to enjoy the MG. When shooting a MG you have to use your brain more and your finger less. Advice : use burst fire even when the MG is deployed.
They were too powerful before the spread was added, but it’s way too much. Almost every MG suffers from crazy dispersion now, and even mounting it isn’t guaranteed to help. Some bullets just decide to peace out at a 45 degree angle from the barrel. At least let me hit when I’m firing single shots, jeez.
Sorry m8 but you wrote complete BS.
He is bipoded in an ok firing position and shoots at (give or take) 300m. There is no reason why weapon with effective range of 1km should be this useless in this scenario.
Exactly the oposite. Currnetly the best way to use MGs is not to find a good position and setup a bipod. It’s to run&gun using it like an oversized SMG.
shhh don’t tell them
…But yes, the LMG’s are somehow amazing close range/assault weapons… Huge magazines, high damage (single shot kills), great ROF and the ability to effectively pen the walls of most buildings. When you are up close and prefiring every corner, the dispersion doesn’t matter much, can even help at times. At range, it really sux.
I feel like the “drawback” of the LMG’s should be weighted more towards instability, instead of dispersion. It would make them slightly worse (but not useless) up close, and difficult to use at range unless mounted, but while mounted they should perform much better. That’d encourage LMG gameplay to be more LMG like.
