Radio operator rocket barrage?

You keep dodging this point? Instead of chatting about stuff that doesn’t matter to the original post reply to this.

i already answered your point, and i also showed you that i don’t hide somewhere safe. You just have to pay attention.

Yes, in such a situation, it takes skill to know when to use it to your advantage, especially if you have to wait for 10 minutes for another strike

I too struggle to understand what the airstrikes ,as they are now, add to game experience when it’s supposed to be infantry based.
We invest time and resources on fortifications just to have everything whipped across the map.

Its a bit too disruptive to the game flow.

Feels like a reset botton.

We could have airdrops instead. Say a stack of AT weapons, an air droped vihecle with mounted heavy machine gun, a stack of granades… so many nice options that would better fit the infantry battle theme better than a blanket destruction wave.

Guess I have to intervene a 'lil bit.

It takes… guesswork, of where the enemy is likelly going to be after 10, 15, 20 and 25 seconds.
Is it skill? Hm…
Maybe a 'lil bit of mathematics/intuition and experience.
In addition, you can’t call in artillery and other support in the grayzone.

Partially correct - there is no counter-artillery ability, that disables or delays support for the enemy even more.
As for what the players can do - they can take cover inside buildings/fortifications or avoid the red zones. There is some counterplay.

I suppose You won this…

Actually, hang on - what if You are defending, and are about to lose the last invasion point? Maybe, this last artillery strike can change the outcome of the battle, provided you aim/time it right?

But yeah, unless the enemy tries to go out of his/her way to hunt the RO down, they don’t really have an obvious counter.

I guess they are slightly out of place. I suppose this is an attempt to make the game more aligned to the atmosphere of World War 2 combined arms warfare. Slightly out of place, but… what are the alternatives? Blowing stuff up is fairly obvious way to show achievement and have meaningful contribution to the battle.
Now, if we would be talking night battles… yeah, there would be no need for planes, but we’d need a different squad selection system than the one we have now - allowing us to choose our loadout at the beginning of battle.

Probably a discouragement from building a highly elaborate fortress-complexes.
Though, airplanes, can be countered with AA guns. Or building inside buildings

I try to imagine giving a player control of a JU-52 transport plane to land on some place to unload airborne AT guns and other weapons…
And there aren’t many places to land in the maps that we have…
As for paradropping supply/medic crates… Interesting…

Like no, currently you can build an AT gun in 3sec and are almost usless for fight tank

Immagine how usless is wait for the drop

Valid point.
We can either cheat history or dig in for balanced alternatives.

No you’ve just been trying to divert from the topic tbh @17222392 straight up answered my points.

No it’s not the same thing.

@17222392 is correct. It doesn’t take skill, it takes some intuition or guess work which is not skill by definition they are very different things.

K judging by your loadouts you might not be a camper and still you are kinda avoiding the main points and diverting the topic.

Sounds like you want to use it as a strategic deterrent to stop a cap. Defenders already have an advantage on most maps if teams are evenly matched. They don’t need this as well. “Ah they’re breaking through fire the missiles!” Also, thankfully friendly fire is gone from arty but because of this people use it in the wrong way and call it in on top of their own troops which is kinda broken.

Even though YOU might not be a camper there are those players out there that will camp and just do this all game. Secondly 10 min timer per person so if the map goes 20 mins and there’s 20 players everyone uses it twice that’s 40 rocket barrages! That’s 2 per minute! The cooldown thing would only work if it was a universal cooldown.

In summary. There is enough explosions already in this game. Arty is already a constant annoyance. No I don’t want to see this in game. I still think it takes no skill to use arty and there is no risk.
