Question?

Before I decide to report this as a bug to the correct Gaijin site, I want to ask people if engineers are even allowed to use assault rifles…

Only engineers in Stalingrad.
And according weapons available, it looks like you are in Stalingrad campaign. So there’s no bug.

Btw. After merge only engineer squads from Stalingrad will be able to take AR.

I’m just curious why do Stalingrad Engineers get the Mkb

And I will say for organization’s sake I’d rather that it be removed from Engineers keep it in line with the rest of the game’s class “meta”. Only Assaults get assault rifles. I personally hope they change this

because MKB and AVT were meant to be all class in stalingrad, everyone got rightfully angry so the devs changed it to where the unlock class (engineer), medics and assaulters to equip it

I think it was a selling point for the Stalingrad full access or something and they tried to take away as little promises to paying users by keeping that ability.

I mean technically the AVT does make sense to be an all class because it is a “battle or automatic rifle” which means it fires a rifle round vs an Assault rifle that fires an intermediary round. It’s basically a service rifle that happens to be fully automatic. So I would say the AVT should be widely available

I personally think they should remove the Mkbs because it’s on the books an assault rifle. If people demand a suitable replacement I’m sure there’s some battle/automatic rifle somewhere that fits that niche (yes obviously the FG42 but that’s for the later battles)

The funny part is, these squads should be able to equip all AR after merge. At least that’s what has been stated.
So Soviets could be potentially able to take AS and federov.
And Germans STG44 and mkb43/1

$talingrad? Yes, for both side

The reason everybody that tried fully automatic battle rifles gave up on them is because they were universally found to be uncontrollable and wildly inaccurate when firing. The AVT in particular was found to be less accurate than the ppsh and had a tendency to destroy barrels in just a few hundred rounds when firing in full auto.

I’m of the opinion that the only soldiers that should have access to automatic weapons should be assaulters and gunners, but even if they’re going to be universally available in game; they should reflect this deficiency by dramatically increasing the recoil when firing in full auto, and possibly add an overheating mechanism as well.

Medics cant afaik.

i just checked and you would be correct, they can’t. i thought they could probably because they could carry SMGs
