Question for germans player over normandy with campaign level 25

ok so, i was wondering, the FG42 II it’s for sniper, right?

while the FG 42 it’s for enginners?

because technically, it’s an automatic rifle so it goes under assaulter class, right?

but i don’t understand why it’s unlocked with engineer class type 2.

the reason why i’m asking it’s because i have a couple of squad not yet filled ( of the 3 classes choises over the blue tech trees ) and i was waiting and just to make sure to not regreat that idea.

You don’t need lvl 25, you can just open the class you’re interested in and see which guns they can equip - even the ones you don’t have yet, and in a separate category are all the other guns from the campaign that class cannot equip. Troopers and Engineers get FG 42 and snipers get FG 42 II. I guess they get them as a counterbalance to M2 carbine.
