Question for developers. Are the british/canadian weapons placeholders until they get a campaign?

seeing the no4 enfeild rifle in the american tech tree , and the starting rifle for the americans as the ross rifle is a bit annoying…

The americans started the war with the 1903 (in game) and the 1903a3 (rear peep sight instead of tangent sight up farther on the gun). These should be the main stay bolt actions of the americans until the carbine and garand are unlocked.

Similar to how all the russians start with the pre-mosin carbine and then can unlock the better mosin nagant we all know

well, i’ll tell you that much.

devs don’t answer questions unless it’s related to marketplace issues or explanations.

anyway, those weapons are currelty placeholders as you already know, and most likely, are going to be used for tunin campaign.

so i suspect that the are gonna remove those rifles and put the american counter part.

problem is, it’s still a clue on how they think to just simple remove all those weapons from the people that actually use them. and expect to replenish each player with the newer weapons.

so we don’t know for sure.

i don’t think a wipe will occour. but i’m starting to think that it’s going to be the only way.

i hope to be wrong. but we’ll never know.

for the rest, all what we can do for now, is “enjoy” those weapons until you can.

cheers.

i dont think there will be a wipe for the beta i think this is all stuff for the main game

I’m thinking the exact same thing

yeah, hopefully it’s not going to be the case.

but i still wonder how they think to replace those weapons.

like, you spended silver and bronze orders and made upgrades on those weapons. what’s going to happen to them?

I do not think they will be replacing them as the Normandy campaign is Germany vs the Western Allies, not only the USA. I am sure they will add British uniforms to reflect this instead of removing the existing British gear.

that would be a shame because that does not make sense at all.

It makes sense. They mixed up the D-Day beaches, with the D-Day map being an amalgamation of all of them combined, because they did not want to only feature the USA. They might even feature some Canadian troops in the future. America wasn’t the only ones storming those beaches and the game merely represents that.
