Question about the new Radio Operator Squad from Rocket Storm

Hey guys, just a question about the new Radio Operator Squad from Rocket Storm event.

What weapons are they able to equip? Will they be able to equip SMGs and LMGs? Or are they only able to equip semi auto and bolt action rifles?

If they’re only able to equip rifles, I might skip the grind altogether since I’m F2P and only have 3 squad slots available.

Appreciate any response to this!
