If I choose to take the secondary weapon slot on a premium squad, will the engineer in the premium squad no longer be able to use a backpack?
Is it a premium engineer or an old premium squad with a regular engineer?

Well I would think they would keep the backpack slot since they can’t use the second weapon slot either way.
You can always click on the premium squad and go to updates and change to having a secondary weapon, I have done that to every squad I don’t like the main weapon, so I can then arm him with the preferred weapon and the premium one becomes my back up. You should be able to do this with just about every premium squad except for paratroopers and medic squads. 190 gold to make changes unless you have a ticket for it. This is the only reason I can use the MP 18 squad, as I think the MP18 should be a level one weapon, but I think it sucks as a level two, so I changed it so I use it at level three with the ZK-383.
I wish they would make all premium squads with interchangeable weapons loadouts, especially since we pay for them, so we should have the option of using them where we want them with what weapon we want. I would have bought more squads if we had that option.

Since we don’t have historical campaigns anymore… I wouldn’t mind being able to change weapons in premium squads.
The MP18 squad would get a new life with e.g. Mkb35/III
Or SAS with M3 Suppressed as primary weapon.

Yeah, I would most likely still use the weapons from a premium squad maybe in another squad, but I mostly just want the premium squads, with or without weapons to use as I see fit.
