Ok put simply the current Normandy campaign is broken by the inclusion of a vehicle that was not even present and the failure to add German weapons and ammunition that was actually present during the battle.

Now the PIAT was present and is awesome in function and if it kills me I shrug my shoulders and try and have a bit better awareness. The fact the comparative German weapon is the pistol launched Heat round is a joke and the Panzerfaust 30 should be it’s replacement.

The current routine on a city map is Jumbo shows up and stays in gray area and simply shoots at you until lucky shots kill you while if you try and outflank it you die to PIAT’s. If you stay in gray area it still kills you. Occasionally A JUMBO shows me it’s side from short range and my ammunition still bounces off the bloody thing. Aim for hull below track and same result which is wrong on so many levels.

The gearbox cover is supposed to be 4 inch thick and bounces all rounds, the Hull MG is supposedly a weak point but even when not being shot at it’s either not getting hit or bounces. Attempts to get a round bounced through hull roof off the turret is not working, attempt’s to get in though other real world weak points just does not work.

The hull below the track overhang is 38mm and should be an easy penetration from a PZIV shooting at less than 60 degrees. Currently these shots just bounce. I should note that for someone with limited time to play I will either choose a different game that is not so unbalanced or not waste my gaming time once I see the JUMBO being used. These are not actions I wish to take but currently it’s the only metric that makes sense.

If the data shows players not taking part when the unbalanced vehicle is present and the % of victory being massively off side maybe the unbalanced part will be fixed. BTW the KWK 42 will not make a lick of difference if it too is not allowed the APCR round. Maybe it will make the Jumbo have to try and outflank it but it is still not acceptable.

try it from the jumbos perspective the puma shrugs off 75 mm when it shouldnt
pz normal weak points dont apply
then they add a panther that you cant pen frontally when the jumbo can be penned by every thing literally everything can pen frontally

so it seems they screwed up tank again

and since the update they are winning by far its not even close at all the Germans don’t die i watch them time and time again shrug off a round from a grand or Thompson like nothing to keep fighting so u wont get much sympathy from me to be honest the Germans arnt as bad as u say they are

I would agree the Puma is not modelled well but I can pen it easily over and over again by hitting big parts of the armour not sloped towards me. That at least is correct. Personally I wish they would bring in the overmatch penetration rules so regardless of thickness if the shell is more than twice the armour thickness it actually goes through. For example 30mm of armour can bounce a 60mm shell but not a 75mm.

today after quite pain i managed to get a panther, saw a jumbo, aimed for the mg ports, bounce :joy:

tank models are far from done for sure.

up until then… well, nothing much.

if you use a panzer IV J / H you can do nothing but wait behind some corner or forest, don’t shoot or you will reveal your position, and shoot between the side armor and tracks:

that’s where ammo are

if you can’t ( due to angles, position or whatever )

try between the gears.

For experience, DO NOT try to hit the upper side armor.
if in war thunder works, here it doesn’t.

majority of the time soak the shell and you are dead in the next few seconds unless you can back out in safety.

Yes, the Axis infantry antitank weapons in the game are very weak.
The Panzerfaust 60 has a non-historical projectile speed: 25 meters per second instead of 45. In addition, the animation is crooked and uncomfortable. They should make the Axis anti-tank weapon at least as it was in real life, because the panzerfaust missile flies absurdly d

Blatantly incorrect, he’s either angled relative to your gun or you don’t know where the ammo is (or you get gaijin’d but that’s rare) because literally every time without fail I’ve managed to det jumbos by shooting the ammo rack (or at least get it super red)

The M3 75s ammo is non-functional as is
It’s a literal pixel with no post-pen solid shot round

Post pen for all solid shot is pretty much nonexistent. If this is some “balancing” feature confirmation by the devs would be great so we could move forward from there.

I understand they used old WT damage models and all that bs but solid shot being absolute garbage has been a thing for quite awhile.

Solid shot even in older WT still had spalling and fragmentation on penetration

Go test the premium jumbo or the valentine
Its just a pixel that causes moderate damage to whatever it touches

It performs like the anti-tank rifles. You have to snipe each and every component and crew member, often times each taking multiple hits.

Try out the valentine premium tank.
It can pen the panzer 2 frontally
Go through most of my ammunition before anything cooks off or catches fire.

The only thing we have that can pen a panther irl and in-game from the front is the M10 GMC Allies don’t really have much effective man portable AT if your a good shot the panther’s turret cheeks are actually pretty weak like king tiger. P.S but only M10 can exploit this weakness hint hint maybe actually use it.

attacking from the air and flanking is still a better tactic

when panther isn’t hiding in its spawn where it cant be flanked

One of the best things about online gaming is and has always been the ability to have an input into the improvement of the game. Sometimes the desired outcome happens and causes more problems and needs fixing in other ways. I’m an old hand at beta testing in the games I enjoy the most. Even when I disagree with an update it is still worth looking at the bigger picture. Right now the games have gone from 40 to 45 minutes to being speed capped due to enough good players learning the mechanics to do this. Me I’m still trying to work out the mechanics of it so I can provide good defence.
