I think the pump action shotgun (the winchester model 12 is the only one as far as I know) shoots and pumps too fast.
But this isn’t a balance issue - this gun is boring to use because it just sort of shoots and pumps almost at the same time. It lacks satisfaction that pump shotguns in games often have!
Thus, I suggest slowing down the pump speed and adding more animation to it. While the shotguns will never be as good as SMGs, ARs, etc…a little bit of satisfaction using it goes a long way to making it a worthwhile option to a player. Even a simple animation (or two, for variety!) to add some life to it would be good.
Secondary to this, the tiny bead sight on the Winchester Model 12 isn’t visible when aiming down the sights normally, and only appears when moving around. I think it would be good for it to be more visible, either by adjusting the ADS position or increasing the size of the bead.
But also, the slowness is what makes it fun! You get to feel the enemy you point the shotgun at die as you rack another shell. And let’s be honest, you’re not using these because they’re good. If you were, you’d be using an smg, a rifle, or the browning auto.
And even if we go full trench gun on this, with slam firing and all, the current animation speed is so quick as to take all the fun out of it!
Naturally, this only applies to pump action shotguns - double barrels and automatic shotguns such as the browning auto 5 will be unaffected by this.
That’s exactly the reason I am using them, they are good, and I have full squad with it in Normandy and Pacific,US SMG? Ew, the only SMG that worth using for US is the Lanchester
It’s an evolution of the trench gun. You know, the one that slam fires? Nah that action needs to be as fast as possible so I can imagine I’m slam firing that thing
