Proximity Voice Chat

Hello users and Dev team.

What do you think about adding a proximity chat like in other tactical games( Examples: Arma, Red Orchesta, Holdfast nations at war, Hell let loose, etc), having the option to listen the other users in a match will help a lot.

Personally I know this function permits a lot of trolls and earrape issues but having the option to mute those users ingame will help solve it. Many people will use it to comunicate and will enhance fun and funny moments.

Nothing else have a good day.

Cheers.

There already is voice chat in the game. It only isn’t used like at all because nobody quite seems to know how it works.

Or the text chat.

But I am saying proximity chat.

Proximity is tough. Some games it works bc the community is mature enough. It can also be a disaster. Sure mute them. However, that gets annoying to always have to mute trolls. They just need a more fleshed out chat system like squad or HLL

I don’t use it because I have no faith in my teammates to do anything other than create noise.

I assume it’s just a team-wide chat with PTT?
I would prefer proximity if I were to use in-game chat because it’s much better than guessing who’s who and hoping they figure out who I’m trying to talk to.

Proximity voice would be more helpful especially with localized cooperation since it doesn’t tell you who is who just by looking at them. Team-wide voice is good for overall cooperation.

honestly, i would be up for that.

in order to create more tactics, and be more coordinate with others comrades/kameradens on the field much more than using a textual chat and lose vital seconds.

more options for communication are essential in my opion. and i would also suggest to make it so if there are enemy closer, they can hear too.

The normal ingame chat can be activated with “Enter”, write a message and again “Enter” to send.

In the age of discord I would recommend against creating any downsides to in-game voice chat.

well, the point is, according by your logic, discord is a thing. and for half that is correct.

but when you are in a match, you don’t have everyone as Your friend in discord that you can call in one giant call.

not to mention, this will become usefull when servers will get bigger.

so, i still believe that as insurgency did, or many other games, platoon, squad and proximity chats should be a thing. you also have to consider community games.

not everyone will be able to use a discord for it. as it will get messy with everyone speaking on the top of each other
