During World War II, Japan attempted to import advanced German weaponry, including the MP44 (StG44), through companies such as Showa Trading Co. While these weapons were not used on the battlefield, the historical fact that such attempts were made opens up the possibility of an “alternative history” scenario. Based on this, I would like to propose the implementation of the MP44 as a potential “if weapon” in the Japanese faction of Enlisted.
Currently, Enlisted features weapons such as the Type 5 Ho-Ro self-propelled gun, which was never deployed in battle, as part of the game’s “what if” scenarios. Given this precedent, I believe the MP44 fits within the established framework of the game as a viable “if weapon.” Its inclusion could serve as an event weapon or prototype in alternative campaigns, allowing players to experience a fresh and engaging new option for gameplay.
The MP44, with its high rate of fire and firepower, would provide a significant tactical advantage in close-quarters combat, adding depth to the Japanese faction’s arsenal and giving players new strategic choices. Unlike the standard infantry rifles like the Type 38 Arisaka or the Type 97 Light Machine Gun, the MP44 could drastically change the flow of battle and offer a different style of combat, enhancing the tactical options available to players.
Furthermore, implementing the MP44 would increase the variety of weapons available to the Japanese faction, allowing for more diverse gameplay and tactical thinking. Enlisted already thrives on providing varied combat experiences, and adding this weapon would contribute to that goal by introducing new dynamics on the battlefield.
I believe the introduction of the MP44, while respecting historical accuracy, would offer a fresh and compelling element to the game. It would add strategic depth while maintaining the semi-realistic battlefield setting that Enlisted is known for.
no please, the Ho Ri is enough of a stain, not to mention why on earth would they need it when they have the auto hei, straight up the most broken gun in the game?
If Japan don’t have assault rifle, please don’t add it.we aren’t willing to see Tiger put into Japan.Let alone the fake Stg44.
If in this case, why don’t add Japan into German research tree.
AS-44 and Hyde1944 never saw combat either.
In fact Japan had purchased and shipped at least 6 StG44 to its mainland so Japan using the StG44 in Enlisted would be realistic, or better said more realistic than what US or USSR has.
The alternatives are very limited too (only 1 prototype made, no picture of it and would struggle at BR5).
I have a better solution, introduce the current type hei as an assault rifle and add a 20-shot version of it as a rifle, now all the problems are solved!
do me a favor and shut up, it exist a verified document about the delivery of 6 of them, maybe not TT ,but yes as assault engie squad, it also exist a comission who I am trying find about a possible delivery of mp 40 and panzershreck :3
So what ? Did they reach Japan ? Are there any proof they were used ?
If Japan can have STG, then every faction can as well, both the US and soviets certainly captured more of them than the japanese even bought.
Oh and for instance, both the brits and the US got T-34 for trial, does that mean we can have the T-34 in the US TT? because in their case, they at least reached the USA and UK
Assault engineers came with tech tree weapons for both the Soviets and Germans, it shouldn’t be any different for the japanese and US (if we ever have them to begin with…)
Yes please, this is at least 10 times better than having copy pasted content and it would give the japanese something that is… well at least japanese
just look about Ho-Ri, just look about hyde, look to hei rifle, look the soviet cold war weapon, look, man, I know you don’t want it, but the game now is beyond to revert it, so flow with us
You know damn well thats not the issue at hand, its a complete vibe kill for the japanese,
Not to mention on your later point about it being too late to go back, since when did two wrongs make a right? We should seek to contain the rot, not embrace it.
Should Japan get a copy of every thing they even bought or captured, or hell even considered getting? I mean ffs. Japan has so much shit it needs before this type of stuff that is downright not needed when they have the single best SF rifle in the game, frankly completely invalidating any point of an AR for them.
I think Sina was cooking when he suggested that it should be made a 20 round mag and give them an AR version with its current setup. That way we can at least preserve the uniqueness of Japan while allowing them to get the assault engineers they deserve.
I should tack on here, I think the same of the panzershrek for the yanks, before thats brought up as a counter argument. I mean the Panzerfaust would have made sense as a captured weapon, since everyone and their mothers were using captured ones, hell captured panzerfausts ended up baked into soviet doctrine.
Oh please no! But what Japan does need is their second select fire rifle since they’re the only faction without a second one. So another ke7 as a rifle would most likely suit it well
The US didn’t build the t20 Hyde because the did not need to the Germans were still using the largely outdated bolt action rifles and smgs. Had the need arise the US could have put them into production. Japan on the other hand could not have done the same with the mp44. Japan could not even mass produce semi auto rifles, of course neither could anyone but the US. By mass produce I mean to make the the standard infantryman rifle. That being said operation sea lion would make a fun map campaign if we are going impossible alternate history. Simply because Germany made half a million stg44 does not mean Japan could. Just compare fighter and tank production between Japan and Germany.
