Proposal for A New Death Screen : less "Arcade Gore" (and more Realism)

Hallo There !

I would like to propose a new Death Screen/Death Sequence, instead of the current one (which is quite “Arcade-Gore” style, and i am sure many of You don’t like it : especially those Players who have deactivates “Gore” and “Blood” in the Game Options) : currently when a soldier dies the screen fades to BLOOD RED, and an “infamous” skull symbol appears. Very Goth also.

In my opinion there are better options to depict the Death of a soldier in action : less “Arcade-Gore”, more “sober”. And probably also more realistic .

First of all, it’s interesting to note that ingame we have ALREADY the depiction of the loss of consciousness of the soldier (or at least something very close to that) : it’s the loss of peripheral vision that occurs during extreme accelerations, while flying.
The loss of peripheral vision is caused by the reduction of blood stream directed to the brain : for example, as said, it’s induced by critical accelerations while flying an airplane.
But it can also be caused by wounds during a battle…

In extreme cases this can lead to a reversible loss of consciousness.
Or even an IRREVERSIBLE loss of consciousness (=Death).

So we can say that we have already ingame something very similar to a more realistic Death Sequence than the current one.
Here are ingame images of the progressive loss of Peripheral Vision that precedes a
reversible loss of consciousness, or an IRREVERSIBLE loss of consciousness (= DEATH), of a Soldier, during a battle.

So my proposal is simply to replace the current “arcade” Death Screen, with a more realistic “Death Sequence”, inspired to what we have already ingame.

Less “Arcade Gore”, no more “fade to Blood red”. More realism…

i mean,

a first person death camera should do the trick.

but if that can’t be done, then sure what’s above :+1:

They made me find the current gore factor ridiculous. Corpses disappear within 30 seconds.
The Mutilation Factor and Blood Splatter are Ridiculous at Activated level.

Here I simply tried to create a short Death Sequence for the Soldier, implementing the progressive Loss of Peripheral Vision due to Wounds received in battle, until the Total and Irreversible Loss of Consciousness : Death

This is just an interesting 1st Example of what I have exposed in my Previous Message : I hope that the Developer Team finds this new Concept promising :+1:

I like the way RS2 has their death-screens with head shots, the screen abruptly goes black and you hear the bullet hit your helmet.

Yes, and that makes much sense :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:

So there could be different Death-Sequences : just depending on the way the Soldier dies :

1) “Sudden death” , for example due to Head Shots, or to Explosions near the Soldier :
in these cases the Screen goes black almost instantly, like in the example that you have mentioned.

2) “Slower death” due to blood loss, caused by Wounds in battle :
a different Death Sequence, with progressive loss of Peripheral Vision until the Screen goes all black, to simulate the irreversible Loss of Consciousness-Death, like in the Examples that I have mentioned before in this Thread.

As result, High-Quality gaming :+1:

Honestly its hard to treat gore seriously considering what is going on on screen 90% of a time.
Not bitching or something just a fact.
