Its funny. I did work with WG on WoWS. I was, at the time, one of the very few that supported Submarines. I wrote long articles, did mechanical breakdowns on how to balance, and pitched it from my little corner of the world to them for sometime. At announcement of the game. They said it couldn’t be done. In Beta, they said it couldn’t be done. On release, they said it couldn’t be done.
Now, I left before this moment, but, guess what? They did it. Using a bit of a different mechanic, but they are there.
This is one example of a few that I have had or worked on teams with. I am used to hearing people play games , and saying something couldn’t be done in the game engine, and yet it takes the right person with the right vision to get it done.
They give me sometime working with the Dev crew here, and I’d get the mechanics of it ironed out in playtesting.
I’ve heard it can’t be done my entire life.
And yet, I know it can be if we put the work into it.

The under fire when you spawn is being fixed, as mentioned by DF regarding tank spawns, spawn protection and such.
As well, as mentioned in my previous post, just remove the whole animation of towing it. Make it so they deploy it like regular engineers.
I know it removes some immersion, but no more so than MKB’s in combat deployments, Pavasi’s in Tunisia etc etc. You do have to make sacrifices at times to get things to work within a given framework, but its doable.

y dont gaijin games get the sights right? there are plenty of player made WT mods with accurate sights, so y dont they use some of those? unless it would make the game take up that much more space

Like drive the 251 to a location and deploy the AT gun off of the back of the 251? Then dismount the 251 as infantry and slowly push the AT gun to a suitable firing position?
I could live w that.

As long as when I stash my 251 nearby any random player can’t take the gun’s transport vehicle.

Something along those lines. There are many ways it could be done. I’d have to see what they have modeled in game to know how workable it would be, but I’ve helped do things a lot more complicated than this.
I’ve had my StuG III stolen twice now, so yeah, I’m with you on that.
