Price and sale discrimination towards console players

For a while I’ve been annoyed that big sales don’t always transfer to Xbox for example the Christmas on the gajin store doesn’t apply to Xbox. The usual response is “Xbox and playstation have their own sales” which is fair enough but those sales don’t always apply to enlisted or not all items are on sale.

•one way to fix this would be to let all squads be able to be bought with gold instead of being on the Microsoft store, so we can use gold to buy them and have 50% of as well.

Another issue is slight price differences between console and pc. A reason I’ve heard for this is that the game stores take a cut of all sales but wasn’t the steam controversy over gajin charging players extra to get around this.

For example:

walther A115 on xbox

Walther A115 on pc

Usually 19.99 on pc and usually 22.49 on Xbox. That’s a 2.50 difference (not much right?) well let’s say you bought the soviet radio squad as well (it’s the same price). That’s another 2.50, so you’ve spent 5 pound more than the pc player. That 5 pound could go towards another squad or gold.

Speaking of gold, another example:

largest amount of gold in gajin store

largest amount of gold in Xbox store

That’s a difference of 9.33 pounds, nearly ten pounds. For the same product! Combined with the fact that we don’t get sales half as good as the gajin store this really is despicable.

Thanks to @oonurtr for shedding light upon this issue aswell

@MajorMcDonalds @James_Grove please forward this idea to the Devs or perhaps enlighten me as to why I should pay more for the same products.

Yes thank you for speaking about this honestly as a console player it sucks to see PC players get those awesome discounts which really discourage us and forces us to wait even more for some update

There are no discrimination since on Steam (also PC) you pay more than Gaijin store (no price cut to the store) so same as the Xbox/PSN

That proves there’s even more discrimination, because some of the pc players are also getting charged extra. But console players don’t have the option to buy from the gajin store. So my point still stands

Gaijin don’t care they only want to see more money. Not a single f2p game is as stingy as them.

are you sure about that, and are you sure you aren’t forgetting about another russian dev company

sony, microsoft and valve all take ~30% cut(i am not up to date with their terms and conditions, so it might have changed recently).

so third party stores are already constantly “discounted” for gaijin.

Complain to Microsoft and Sony about their fee charges

I mean the best solution I can think of here is allowing console players to buy equipment via the gaijin store.

sony and microsoft might have it in contract that every sale for console players go through their stores.

btw if you want to bypass this you might consider opening secondary account on gaijin and “gift” your console account whatever you want to actually buy.

that is a good work around, Honestly I was just thinking they could link their console account to a PC account to let them buy from the store, but yeah gifting from a fake account seems legit.

well kinda cause it seems like not all items there can be given as gifts.

They already thought of this

it in their policy sadly

The steam controversy was mainly about steam taking a cut of gajin sales, so gajin pushed that cost onto the player. This is the same the cost is being pushed onto the player yet again, but this time console users can’t even access major sales or gift themselves on sale items through the gajin store.

It’d be nice. I want some event vehicles in WT

Don’t think it works like that. Least I don’t think it worked when I looked into it…

well i saw that he tried and it didnt work. seems like it is indeed contractual reason, cause gaijin really doesnt have any reason to block someone from bypassing playstation or xbox store and purchasing from them directly.

Well, yes. In the same way that the Apple Fortnite controversy happened. It’s console policy that it must be done through the store. Now if only there was a way to tie in the Gaijin Store to it so I can get some fun stuff

from wiki:

The trial ran from May 3 to May 24, 2021. In a September 2021 ruling in the first part of the case, Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers decided in favor of Apple on nine of ten counts, but found against Apple on its anti-steering policies under the California Unfair Competition Law. Rogers prohibited Apple from stopping developers from informing users of other payment systems within apps. Epic appealed the ruling to the Supreme Court in July of 2023. Apple also filed an appeal of the ruling. Justice Kagan declined to grant Epic’s emergency request for a stay of the ruling in August of 2023. In January of 2024, the Supreme Court denied the full appeals of both Apple and Epic in the case, leaving the case primarily a victory for Apple but still requiring them to allow developers to include notices of alternate payment systems in apps.

so alternate payment systems are allowed according to judgement.

btw reading further apple did malicious compliance

With the Supreme Court’s refusal to hear either appeal, the case ended with all charges dismissed exception for the anti-steering charge. To implement this, Apple allowed developers to include “metadata buttons, external links, or other calls to action that direct customers to purchasing mechanisms”, but required that developers give Apple 27% of all sales made within seven days of being directed to these sites, which Apple described as a “reasonable means to account for the substantial value Apple provides developers, including in facilitating linked transactions”.[84] In addition, the App Store posts a warning screen stating that Apple is not responsible for any security or privacy issues related to third-party payment systems when clicking through to one of these systems.[84] Sweeney stated that these changes are in bad faith compliance with the court orders, maintaining a 27% anti-competitive tax and a “scare screen” that are intended to dissuade developers from using third-party payment systems. Epic filed its request to Rogers in March 2024 to enforce the anti-steering provision that she had outlined for Apple.[84][85]
