Premium squads

What advantages do they bring?

I’ve been undecided if they’re worth it, I’ve been testing them in the practice section but they don’t look any different than a random campaign unit.

Not to mention that most of them have weapons that the campaign itself gives you.

They seem really expensive to me if the only thing they offer is that they are already max.

I believe that a premier squad will rarely outperform a regular squad that has been trained to its maximum potential. It will be most useful during the low levels of the campaign. The advantage of a premier is that you can skip training and use the powerful units available.
The other motivation for buying a premier squad is for collection purposes.
Note that for items you buy as a collection, price is not an indication of performance, some of the premier squadrons are mixed in with some that are clearly underperforming.
For example, the U-2 squad, which performs really badly. But I like this one. I hardly see anyone using the women’s squadrons, I enjoy the challenging performance, and if you get a kill with it, you can brag about it to your opponent. And there is a sense of satisfaction just by possessing it.

On the other hand, I would like to ask everyone, is there a premier squad that has a clear advantage in performance over a maximally trained regular team?

They add a 100% xp booster while using them, which is barely notacible in my opinion, also completely useless when you maxed a campaign.

Also, most premium squads are simply worse than free campaign squads. Not just some premium weapons are worse, but also the squad size. Premium squads only have their specific class, and nothing else (Except sometimes engineer) while free squads can be customized to have 3 soldiers with different classes, which means ingame you could play better at different situations:

Example:

  • Free assaulter squad could have an additional engineer, additional radio operator, additional anti tank gunner.

  • Premium assaulter squad can only have a single additional engineer

So in conclusion:

In my opinion most premium squads are worse than free squads and are WAY to expensive (some cost over 50$).

BUT

They are collectors items and support the developers. I got almost all of the premium squads for the soviets, and some for the germans, but only because i play the game almost daily and i would say it is my favorite game. For a regular player, i dont know if it is worth it.

I would say the new paratrooper squads, which cannot be obtained for free at this point (except event) but they are really really powerful.

Also maybe newer machinegunner squads, like the fedorov mg in moscow. They can build the very powerful DSHK machinegun like the free mg squad BUT the premium mg squad got TWO engineers instead of the free squad which only can have ONE. Still the premium squad is not customizable and has less soldiers.

Thanks for letting me know! The paratroopers in Normandy and Fedorov in Moscow are very fascinating. I hope to get them at some point.

Actually f2p machinegunner squad can have 2 engineers.
Also premium squad can build AT gun and AA gun that can be very dangerous. (Also very stupid imo.)

Basically if you buy it, you buy it because it is pretty hahaha as if it were a skin.

Lol, I had locked myself in Moscow so much that I didn’t even know there were female squads, I’ll have to go up to Stalingrad.

premium serves different purposes.

the " good " is mostly subjective and really depends from someone needs.

generally, they help you to progress campaign points " faster " and quicker.

some of them comes with unique camouflages & weapons, others with fully upgraded tanks and what not.

you either buy them because you like them as they are, or buy some others as a " tier " skip.

( such as the panther A in berlin premium, or jumbo in normandy … for example. ).

then you have overall good premium tanks such as dicker max, jagdpanther, some of the premium airplanes with big bombs, and yada yada yada.

although, you might find " questionable " premium squad such as the moroccan one, or the volkssturm.

usually, picked more for the appearance / details of history behind them.

they are not meant to be better overall than free counterpart.

some of them are, others not so much.

but offers variety.

so, the question is, what do you need, and what do you want.

( above all. your wallet. i’d usually suggest to wait for discounts. because for those price, not really much is worthed outside the BA-11 and very, very few others cheap squads with good items )

Only their xp boost

But, You can get a better squad of common progress (example 7 soldiers, 4stg and 3 fg42)

Personally, I buy premium squads with the intention of collecting them because they seem like an interesting weapon or because they are at a discount (as happened with the Moroccan auxiliaries).

Yes. When their composition cannot be attained with regular squads, or offer a mechanic also unavailable for free.

Such as:

  • Moscow mg42 early and lmg Fedorov squads. It’s 5 lmg guys in one squad, and best lmgs of the campaign.
  • Tunisia flamethrowers. Seriously. 5 flamethrowers. 5!!!
  • Berlin mg45. Cause it’s better and again, are 5.
  • both premium paratroopers squads. The class isn’t available at all for free! It’s a paid class or event one.
  • some premium vehicles with HEAT, while regular versions got none.

Rockets premium could enter this category because they’re unique and have no free counterparts… But I consider them a funny gimmick, without being very powerful.

Panzer IV HEAT in moscow is probably the biggest power spike over the standard tech tree variants IMO (apples to apples that is… panzer IV F2 is free so)

The rest are good, being able to carry more weapons than tech tree squads…but thats mainly just potentially. They get wiped as easily as anything else.

  • Jagdpanther - some time ago it was literally indestructable for soviet tanks, but now they fixed it
  • Firefly - slightly better cannon than M4A1 76 (not big difference)
  • SU-100 - same cannon as IS-2, but reloads twice faster
  • sniper Gewehr 41 - far better than sniper Kar98k and sniper MKb available in Moscow
  • Flametroopers in Tunisia (4 flametroopers instead of 2)
  • premium Jumbo - has access to APCR rounds, which can damage Panthers and Tigers

The rest of premium squads are not better than these obtained in campaign levels, and some are even far worse.

Lol their cannon are not the same. Su100 has a 100mm cannon, while IS-2 has a 122mm cannon.

  • Panzer IV Hear
  • Flamer squads
  • Jumbo
  • MG13 Drum
  • Firefly
  • Jagdpanther
  • SU-100
  • Soviet M4
  • Soviet M3
  • (Paratroopers, because they either premium or event)
  • (Rocket Launcher tanks)
  • (StuG G and A)

But always remember: If you want them, really only buy them if they and/ or gold are on sale.

Life is simple. Looking at women makes me feel good and energized. Are you different?

It’s true!

I bought them for a similar reason. Not because I like looking at them, it’s seriously not better than looking at “The Sims” models.

But. I know as a fact it makes teenagers rage when shot by them! And oh, I so love to troll sometimes. Parachuting them with both a Brammit and pps42 each, and upset my opponents for laughs
