Premium Me 262 Narwhal: Return Ammo Belt to AP-T/HEF-I

image

@YuiHibiki I am just pasting my feedback I provided on the Test server.

Originally on the TEST server the Me 262 Narwhal had AP-T/HEI-T rounds (there is HE filler in the AP-T round so technically is APHE)

A major reason why Mixed belts worked so well on the Me 262 Narwhal, Is because it has a High Rate of Fire Auto cannon. “IF” it had a really low fire rate, there would be more reason to want just “one” type of ammunition because you have limited time on target, but the Narwhal doesnt suffer from that

When it was released on live, the HEI-T rounds were taken out and left with only AP-T

This has made the Me262 a complete niche premium and very boring compared to what It was on Test server. Its not even Especially good at killing Top tier Tanks, it does melt down tiered tanks (But it metled them even with mixed belts)

For a plane (especially a Premium) to be worth while, it needs to do at least 2 out 3 importants things (to a certain degree of proficiency)

  • Anti Tank
  • Anti Infantry
  • Anti Air (Good dogfighting capability)

With AP-T only ammo belts it only does 1 of these things (and not amazingly). making it niche

With AP-T/HEF-I belts it could at least do 2 of these things to some degree making it worth while

Please return to Mixed belts: AP-T/HEF-I OR AP-T/HEI-T

Below is the feedback provided from test server Before the Change:

Why AP-T/HEF-I round Belt is Optimal for Enlisted

After doing a few games, For what the “262 Narwhal” is, it is in its Optimal configuration for “Enlisted”

Warthunder GBs” Optimal Configuration would be all AP-T…but Enlisted has Infantry!!.

Removing HEI-T ammunition from the belt would be to its detriment (and it clearly has been)

With only AP-T rounds you would be circling the map waiting for tanks, with nothing to do in between (and you have lots of competition for those targets). Its not a good dogfighter…

And for those asking for HVAP belts, you are asking for a “WORSE” ammunition than AP-T (for damage purposes).

As it is now you can blow up tanks, and do some infantry strafing in between.

Its a Perfectly Fun and Viable Premium

I am happy (It blows up tanks in Practice, if there were more players on test server using tanks I could test it better)

Also selling the preorder with the HE but delivering AP only is litterly text book “bait and switch”.
So in a way those who had trust in DF got scammed by the devs.

EDIT: I defnitly wont preorder anything they offer as it might be nerfed into the ground by the time it hits the live server.

Oh and incase those screenshots made it look “too potent”…which its not…it was just potent enough to be interesting.

The TT jets still do it far better

Give it one bomb from TT Me262, and give one more bomb to the TT Me262

TT jet, with N37 canon.

Funny I haven’t seen ppl using it on tanks yet…

They don’t know…

As cool as that would be, this plane does not have that option in warthunder so i rather doubt it.

I was really bumbed when it went live :frowning:

Oh i should also say that some people just want AP to kill tanks, others want HE to kill infantry.

So in fairness we compromise and get AP-T/HE :stuck_out_tongue:

HOW ABOUT AP-T / HEFI belt?

yes the belt that would priobably be best is AP-T/HEF-I

HEI-T was still acceptable (It worked on test server)

Have worded properly

@YuiHibiki Could you pass this suggestion to the devs if you please? Myr did a comprehensive description like asked

Actually I forget to add a major point of why AP-T/HE works on the Narwhal. I will add to main post

its because it has a High RoF Auto cannon…because of that a mixed belt works really well.

If it had a really slow rate of fire, There would be more reason to want just 1 type of ammunition because your time on target is limited. But with a high fire rate, you are going to land more than enough hits anyway.

If you are approaching the wrong angle, Having more AP-T in the belt isnt going to help anyway

only way the TT 262 is getting a second bomb is if it gets dropped down to 250s, the was a 262 that was tried with 500 kilos but it’s a variant both war thunder and enlisted does not have (me262a-2a/u1) which is a sturmvogel and what they found with that single prototype is that it needed rockets to take off, it couldn’t close it’s central landing gear and was less stable than the single 500 kilo

Whilst I have no idea what ammo belts should be included as don’t need to understand that detail, make it so I am not limited to tanks please, so agree with suggestion, infantry and tanks ideally :guardsman:
