The 500th SS Paratrooper Battalion was the first SS airborne unit. This unit’s first major action was Operation Rosselsprung to assault the headquarters of Tito, the leader of Yugoslavia’s resistance. They parachuted directly onto the headquarters and there was heavy fighting but Tito was forewarned and escaped before the assault and the operation failed. The unit was later sent to fight the Soviets on the Eastern Front where it was nearly destroyed. The unit was later reborn as the 600th SS Paratrooper Battalion and fought on the Western Front against the Allies and the Eastern Front in the final stages of the war. The 600th Battalion was a previous Event squad
This squad would have unique cosmetics as there were specially printed Fallschirmjager uniforms in SS camouflage
I would recommend this squad’s unique weapon to be the FG 42 in 8x33 Kurz, the revolutionary intermediary cartridge used by the Stg assault rifles. This was an experimental first model FG 42 converted to the Kurz and the tests performed well that more models were requested but ultimately cancelled.
I know that this isnt really a valid argument anymore but the FG was used by the Luftwaffe exclusively so giving that to an SS unit as its only weapon wouldnt really make sense if plenty of Luftwaffe units are still available.
The SS in an entirely diffrent branch of the military so why should the petty Luftwaffe high command give their toys to a rival organisation in their struggle for political favors.
The SS paratrooper had nothing to do with the LW paratrooper so they would not have access to FG42s only issued by the LW.
Maybe give them Vollmer MKB 35(early model)(different than one that was on BP) or give Vollmer SG 29 which is predecessor of Vollmer MKB 35 but I generally agree with Darenius1 that this squad should not get this weapon oh now that I think of it ZK-412 would be even better choice since it was tested by SS and its other name is MK SS 42
Then maybe Mp-38(L) it is lighter variant of MP 38 there is speculation why it was made but one theory says that it was made for paratroopers and that’s why it was made to be lighter though this would be virtually same as MP-38 statwise
Personally, 'd think the MP 38L would be better for a Fallschirmjager squad based on early war campaigns like Crete while I prefer something like the FG 42 Kurz for my squad idea because they are relatively close in the timeline late war.
Of coarse the devs can do anything they want. They literally could make a random Fallschirmjager squad armed with the FG 42 Kurz
Probably will not happen or soviet paratroopers would cease stop beeing special.
Not giving them a special weapon was in my opinion a mistake which forced DF into a corner of their own making to ensure they function properly.
Yes, but devs want to sell premium squad (and convieniently sell a way to bring BR 5 weapons useable in low BR at the time) as they were lazy and who could possibly have forseen the box beeing OP when used with low BR.
