The Seebatallion was the marines and naval infantry of Germany’s Kriegsmarine. Germany created its first true marine force in 1938 as the Marinestosstruppkompanie or naval shock troops. The marines would see some of the first combat of what would become WW2 during the invasion of Poland in 1939 during the Battle of Westerplatte, one of the first battle of the war. Westerplatte was a peninsula within the territory of the Free City of Danzig, a city-state of mostly Germans that declared itself independent from Poland after this pocket found itself cut off from the rest of Germany after WW1 territorial concessions. Poland had established a major military depot in Westerplatte. On September 1st after naval bombardment the marines launched their attack on Westerplatte where they met a stubborn defense of the small Polish garrison and the battle lasted for a whole week, which did impress the Germans. The marines would continue to serve throughout the war.
They would be a Riflemen squad. Their unique weapon can be the Vollmer SG 29, an experimental automatic rifle. This rifle failed but it would continue into the development of the Vollmmer M35 or MkB 35 which was one of the first German assault rifles.
This squad would also have a unique melee weapon, as some other premium/ event squads do as well, a Kriegsmarine dagger
