The Marine Raiders were a special forces Marine unit. They were inspired by British Commandos and the need to raid deep into Japanese territory in the vast Pacific. The Marine Raiders had a negative reputation among the rest of the Marines because they were considered “an elite force within an already elite force”. The unit did perform some raids such as the raid on Makin Island but the changing nature of the war in the Pacific with the Allies being on the offensive meant there was little need for special deep penetration raids and the Raiders performed as any infantry.
This squad would have a unique appearance. For the raid on Makin Island in August 1942 the Marine Raiders wore a specially dyed black uniform for this nighttime operation
They would be a Guerilla squad.
Their unique weapon could be the Hyde Model 33. The Hyde Model 33 was the first submachine gun made by George Hyde who would eventually create the M3 Grease Gun. The Model 33 competed against the Thompson for adoption

That was the Model 35 with double magazines, this is the Model 33 
Of coarse I will say that it’s not exactly a pitchfork demand for X squad to have Y weapon, the devs do whatever they want, just like anything it’s just an idea for a unique squad to be added to the game and a random suggestion how about this or that as their unique weapon. Like if I could snap this squad into the game right now it’s “Ok Marine Raiders squad and how about this thing that seems cool”. Heck if the devs wanted they could make a squad based on the Marine Raiders and give them a 100 round Thompson for all we know

Not alot of Marines fought in Europe and they wouldn’t wear a black uniform in daytime in Normandy, this is anti WW2

I don’t mind unique squads maintaining their unique appearance. If I play as this squad I want everyone to know I’m a Marine Raider whether I’m on some island or the middle of France
