Premium/ Event Japanese Naval Infantry Squad

This squad would be based on Japanese naval infantry or the Special Naval Landing Force, Japan’s marines. They would be a Machine Gunner squad. Their unique appearance would be the blue naval service uniform

This squad’s unique weapon could be the Type 92 machine gun. The Type 92 was a copy of the Lewis gun and was used as an aircraft machine gun in many navy aircraft. It also found itself used in the ground role. There are different variants of the Type 92 so the devs could just pick one to make their unique weapon.

The Japanese Special Naval Landing Force notably adopted a variant of the Type 92 as a medium machine gun in their operations, so that’s why I thought a Type 92 would be a good unique weapon for this squad.

I was inspired by the old premium Soviet naval infantry squad that were armed with a Lewis gun.

I wonder how they used it :thinking:
It doesn’t have the stock but has a bipod, kind of contradictory. Unless the handle on the back is also the stock? It’s really short though.

Ground based version had stock you can see OP did put a ground version variant there the ones without stock are either plane MG or used with tripod

Yeah but the one on the picture has a bipod, this indicates use by infantry on foot.
I guess the answer is that somebody simply put it there when the gun was restored for the museum.

Hmm might be for the ground based version they didnt have and put it on a aircraft version other than that they might have used the handle like stock there were lewis variant which had handle/stock hybrid another theory might be that the variant was a field modification cause the bipod looks very crude to me

Japan is really dry, only 1 main event radio squad for them for almost the entire year and they ain’t got anything that unique :sob:

Japan truly is a unique faction, obviously besides the fact that it was the second major Axis power.

Sure they don’t have all the fancy assault rifles or heavy tanks, but they have character

There is so much content to be added for Japan, no matter if it’s some bolt action (which bolt actions were literally the backbone of every single country and people only hate them because video gamez) or some scrappy tank
