The Gebirgsjager were Germany’s mountain troops designed to serve in rough, hazardous terrain not suitable for standard infantry. The Gebirgsjager fought in many campaigns from Greece, Balkans, the Eastern Front, Italy, etc. Mountain troops were less armed than standard units because they had to travel light and were typically issued carbines. I would suggest this squad be a Riflemen squad armed with the G40K, an experimental carbine of the Kar98k designed for the Gebirgsjager
