This squad can be based on one of two renowned Canadian scout divisions, the Black Watch and the Calgary Highlanders (there’s no point in me choosing a specific one since the devs can choose whatever, the point is its a Canadian sniper squad). Both divisions first served in the disastrous Dieppe Raid in 1942, and later fought in Normandy through to the Netherlands to the final push into Germany
This squad’s weapon would be a Sniper Ross Rifle. The Ross rifle was Canada’s standard issue rifle at the turn of the 20th century after a licensing dispute with Britain over producing the Lee-Enfield. At the start of WW1 Canadian troops served with the Ross but switched to the more reliable Lee-Enfield after it proved unsuitable for the dirty, muddy conditions of trench warfare. While the standard Ross was not suited for trench warfare the scoped variant found use with Canadian snipers
