TLDR, a Zaitsev submachine gun model 1942; 1st model. developed from MP40, as an alternative to the PPS. 300 were produced and sent to an unknown rifle division for testing (saw active combat).
Based on the MP-40 it would have somewhat similar (but likely slightly worse characteristics, being a 1st model). And notably the requirement was for a low rate of fire (400-500rpm). Conversely it would be armed with a 71rd drum at BR3.
As such its a suitable alternative to the much higher DPS but lower capacity PPsh-41
Technical characteristics of PPZ 1st model:
Weight without magazine and accessories, kg: 3.34;
Store capacity, room: 71;
Store weight, kg: 1.06;
Weight with loaded magazine, kg: 4.98;
Length, mm: 805;
Barrel length, mm: 270;
Sighting line length, mm: 275;
Shutter stroke length, mm: 97;
Number of parts during incomplete (military) disassembly, pcs.: 9
–have a firing rate reduced to 400–500 rpm, so that reducing the mass of the system does not worsen the accuracy (the existing PPD and PPSh had a firing rate of 1000–1100 rpm), the muzzle compensator served the same purpose, simultaneously protecting the barrel from contamination;
Im open to that ofc, it did see limited service so that helps - mostly Im looking for suitable alternatives to Ppsh in BR3 that offer something different. In this case we would be looking at worse MP40 stats of Br2, and lower ROF/ DPS, but with a larger mag capacity. I think its an interesting trade off
