Potential Solution for Historical Accuracy Concerns

Cry

nah you cry… i am happy with proposed changes…

Then wtf are you arguing about.

cause you want average BR to cheese system so you can sealclub newbies and are opposed to max weapon BR that prevents those abuses.

Never said that.

Have fun trolling pal

simply you are against max weapon BR cause it would put you against people with tiger 2 on berlin and not against “similarly” equipped people on moscow/stalingrad.

tiger 2 BR =10, kar98k BR=1
if game uses max weapon BR (which you say is bad from WT), game will always put you against other people with is-2 and fedorovs.
if game used average (or your “addition”) you would get (10+1+1+1)/4= 3.25 average BR.

that would put you in moscow/stalingrad against similarly rated opponents that stand no chance to penetrate your tiger. so sealclubbing.

You obviously didn’t read the blog post

i know what it says and actually read section about matchmaking. it only says it will match you against similarly equipped opponents. similarly equipped opponent may mean someone equipped with highest rated BR weapon/vehicle, or it could mean average equipped weapon/vehicle. and you cant complain if MM matches you in berlin when you have tiger 2 even if you have 3 other squads with kar98k cause berlin MM is closest match for players similarly equipped with tiger 2.

That is a valid criticism of the tiered BR system. However I think there is a solution in assigning a “minimum BR” for late-war equipment. Example - If you have a tiger 2 in your loadout, you can’t cheese the system to fight in moscow because the tiger 2 has a minimum BR of 6 (arbitrary number).

So in this case, even if the Tiger 2 user completely abandoned all other high-level equipment to get a low BR. They would still be in BR 6, in which players can theoretically actually fight it effectively.

Was mentioned further up, but I think pre-sets are the best answer.

Matchmaking would be carried out on skill, a map is selected and then you have to select from your own custom preset squads that are eligible for that map.

So you’d still have multiple squad sets for each faction, but the player base is no longer split and the tech tree still fits for unlocks across the whole faction.

You could still queue as Germany axis for example - but you’d have an early, mid and late war set of squads equipped to your liking to choose from depending on the map/ere. Not all factions would need 3 sets of course.

Sounds like a lot of squads to equip/manage, but it is what we do now if you play multiple campaigns. Seems to me like the best balance between old and new.
