Artillery- the red circle that radio guys call in that make explosions appear within the circle.
Artillery could use some changes. If anyone is familiar with the artillery, you would notice it’s the same artillery from warthunder. That got me thinking, just like on WT what if the accuracy of the artillery is decreased the farther away you are from the call in location just like in WT. So if you get closer the accuracy goes up. You could also implement better accuracy if you spot the target with binocs even if it’s far away.
This should make radio operators get closer to the battle and not camp if they wanna be effective, or essentially expose themselves and use binocs if they want.
Also artillery needs an arc, as of currently explosions comes straight down from the sky like a orbital bombardment like on star wars. It should be something like this

In war thunder is 1 or more km, in enlisted 50m
Could have been a good idea. BEFORE the radiomen nerf. Now arty really isn’t an issue anymore as it’s not spammed like before. I don’t even have arty squads once maxed in my lineup anymore (mortars all the way, high learning curve, high reward squad)
So… I just don’t see the necessity to nerf it even more for those still using it
Well, lower accuracy will give you less kills but also more area denial.
And making current cirlce bigger would cause it to cover the whole map basically.
I don’t know if it’s a nerf.
I suggested something similar a while back, and agree that using binoculars should give a benefit for sure. Something that I would like to see is a way to change the size of the area being hit if you use binoculars. Using binoculars you can choose if its widespread or if its concentrated in a small area. If binoculars could be used this way the person using it needs to have line-of-sight to the target to use this function.
HOWEVER, they can still use the standard function of calling it in on the map for a widespread shot.
– Another thing I though about would be perhaps the red circle warning itself. Perhaps if you are using binoculars to call it in, it wouldn’t give the red warning circle? This way the radio operator would need to have line-of-sight and be exposed to call it in, but there is no warning circle for the enemy. This stops the bots from scurrying away from it too. Just a thought.

Well I’m not really wanting a nerf, but to change it up a bit. Because artillery is just a simple put it down and go on your business. Adding variety will spice it up, and maybe it could be even more accurate than it is if you’re really close.
Well artillery is deadly in some circumstances, like on the Tunisia map with the holes, artillery perfectly lands inside them and bots get wiped out. Though mortars would make more since to land in the holes because it’s arc is not as wide.
Honestly its not even the artillery that is so deadly on that map due to the holes, its the holes themselves that are deadly. Calling in artillery makes the bots move as of the update a little while ago. The trouble here is that it makes a lot of the bots move for the stairs to get out, killing a few and injuring a couple, but you start racking up kills when their pathfinding craps out and they jump off the ledge to their deaths. Since you perhaps knicked them with the artillery, you get the kill when they break their legs off.
My point is that its not even the artillery thats good in that situation sadly. That map just really needs help in general.
