For me it’s my Tunisia Allies 9 man M1 Carbine squad, but a close contender is this:
Each Rifleman has a Mauser C96 which I often will use more than their primary rifle. It can even beat out PPD if you’re like Hans Solo and shoot first.

although it is an unaltered premium squad, i would consider it unorthodox since no one else in the known universe actively uses this squad. and i use it every match because of a severe case of stockholm syndrome (i am also 3-4 matches from max level moscow soviets)

My BA squad, could give them an MG or some other personal but i don’t feel like, didn’t even put more soldiers into it, feels a bit like minions spread out even more to get killed. 
Personally I don’t like MAS. I tried hard but I just can’t work with it.
My main issue is that I use sight guards on the left and right as the front sight. Shot deviation goes brrr…

Thats issue for most people, but idk i just clicked with that rifle, it has fast ROF, can meme with bayonet and i love killing snipers with this rifle, as i always hope it pisses them off to be killed by MAS.

Not my playstyle sadly. 20round mags end too quickly for me.
I use it like a semi-auto most of time tbh, just like a BAR, i use those either on slow or semi, they work better for me this way. I use German BAR much more than MG 42 or 34.

same thing happens to me when I use the SMLE
this squad combined with sh*tchat ‘lmg’ squad is pure ownage. Who needs drum magazine when you can use weapons that might be worse then faction ‘starter’ smg/lmg

chauchat is a great semi auto rifle 
ppsh/avs spam became boring long ago, now i usually just cycle Chauchat, PPT and Arisaka for ultimate meme value

This squad may be my normal Soviet assaulter loadout but what’s unorthodox about this squad are the uniforms themselves especially with no snow maps in Stalingrad right now.
Imagine Chauchat would have, Semi Fire Mode.
The MG Nerf wouldnt be so bad.
The Precision is complete Broken.
Every one of my Italian squads, using Italian only weapons.
The rifle squad has Mod.30 LMG, 2x Armaguerras and then rest is Carcano 41s
The Recon squad is one Barretta M38/41, 2x Carcano 7.35 snipers and 2 carcano 41s
I thing the Carcano’s are some of the best BAs in the game.
I tried giving a engineer a custom uniform in his own squad, then moved him over to the sniper squad to see if i could force the sniper squad to accept the custom uniform change. No luck unfortunately.
It would have been a pain in the %#@ to equip all the members but if it worked you could have had any uniform you liked
to random soldier order
