Taking into account that the game adopts a game style in which you command and direct an entire squad of bots with different classes (something similar to Brothers in Arms) it would be great if its handling and gameplay were similar or equal to said game, they could further expand the order system and make it more complex (in the sense that it is more varied) such as having the possibility of dividing your squad into small subgroups of 3 or 2 soldiers and that said subgroups can be assigned some objective, such as surrounding and flanking or offering suppressive or cover fire while the player flanks with his subgroup, cover orders could be added in which your squad could look for some object, wall or wall and stick to it (before the bots already did something similar, they did not stick to the object, but if they tried to get behind something, for some reason they no longer do it) with the suppressive and cover fire orders they could improve the lethality and reaction of the bots, being more dangerous and much more effective, forcing the players to always be in cover with their squad, some soldier classes can add orders for each soldier class in which the bots can perform their ability or class without needing to be used by the player… for example when ordering suppressive fire, the machine gunner class could shoot the marked target automatically, being more reliable and effective than the suppressive fire of other soldier classes, in the AT class you could order them to shoot an enemy tank or shoot against some structure like machine guns, bags etc… simply by marking them (in theory the AI was already able to use AT against tanks, but once again, they don’t do it anymore) classes like assault and flamethrower would be more useful for flanking, while a part of your bots suppress the enemy, you could surround them and attack them unawares etc…
other additions would be that the stamina of the bots is unlimited until a player takes control of it, it is unrealistic, but at least that would make the bots not stay stopped halfway without cover, Bots could also shoot while running if they don’t have the passive order active
Of course… doing a rework on the AI and order system like this would sacrifice a bit of the freneticism of the game, turning the games into more tactical battles, since the AI would be much more lethal, it would learn to use covers, surround and flank and make use of its class without a player taking control, which would force other players to stop rushing and believe themselves to be Rambo and manage their bots better, there would still be a lot of action and some freneticism, yes, but it would be much more balanced, this would also imply that the devs do another rework on some maps and capture points so that it can be adapted to the new gameplay. Personally, I would like to see the gameplay of Enlisted be more like Brothers In Arms, but I’m sure that 90% of players would reject this change for the reasons mentioned above, and I don’t blame them, killing bots left and right as if there was no tomorrow can be fun, but also quite frustrating and even boring. Anyway, this is not a suggestion, it’s just a possible idea that I wanted to share and maybe discuss.
