Poland has the potential to be a very unique addition to the game. Poland battled both the Soviet Union and Germany during the 1939 invasion. This would allow for greater variety in opponents for lower-level Germany, Soviet Union, and Poland players.
In terms of campaigns, Poland would have to launch with it’s own maps. However, there is the potential for Poland to join Soviet players in later war eastern front maps. Polish forces in the Soviet army participated in the battle of berlin on the Soviet side. It is debatable whether Poland could be allowed to participate in moscow or stalingrad maps.

The polish resistance used a lot of interesting weaponry, generally homemade. I included these as premium squads because I don’t think they should be added as equipment for regular polish infantry.
Poland also has a lot of potential for cosmetic variety:
Unfortunately, Poland didn’t produce many medium/heavy tanks in the buildup to ww2. The R-35 probably shouldn’t be at the end of the progression, but Poland did have some even though they are French tanks. I tried to give them some tanks that might be able to counter german tanks of the era.
Tbh, I wouldn’t mind having to grind the same weapon/vehicle twice, as long as they’re in different factions and we get to choose what we’re grinding for (which is what we’re getting)
Will give them a lot more freedom in coming up with new factions
Definitely! There are some factions I would like to see in the game that simply couldn’t exist without borrowed guns from other factions. I would rather have more factions with some shared weapons than fewer factions.
That’s a good point, that might be necessary for balance. I try to avoid that as much as possible to keep Poland feeling unique. It leads to the question of whether it would be better to give Poland captured german tanks or extremely experimental prototype heavy tanks developed in Poland (unlikely because they would have to make them and can’t import them from warthunder).
I would take the experimental route, but I know some people would prefer captured tanks instead.
That’s nice, someone adapted my suggestion to the new progression system.
However, I have 2 issues with the way you did it:
I would not put the R-35 at the top of the research line - if you play War Thunder you know how weak that 37mm gun is. I would personally put the R-35 between the TKS and the 7TP
I wouldn’t include the partisans’ weapons here - they just don’t belong to this campaign as they weren’t designed at that point.
I support this idea. Thanks for sharing and the work that went into this. I am aware this was posted over a year and a half ago.
Unfortunately there’s a lot of hate towards new factions.
Personally Ive been advocating for the UK tree to be separate to USA. That would allow for Commonwealth squads and weapons like my country Australia.
But I also suggested Free Polish and Free Czech units/soldiers within the British Army. (Free Polish relieved Australians at Tobruk for example).
As far as a Polish specific tree, its probably too small for their liking. However I have also advocated for a separate French tree which would be the only ‘new’ faction.
France in my opinion would include both Free French and Vichy French. It would also include BENELUX squads and tech. This would add early war and late war BENELUX maps but also allow players to fight as the Dutch in the Pacific for example.
Now what we could do is add Poland to France tree since theres lots of cool and unique tech here. That would add more content and reduce the amount of copy paste (I personally dont care about copy paste but others do)
Regarding France it was suggested the tree only go to BR III. I think that would be okay.
There’s plenty of tech between France, BENELUX countries and Poland.
Potential maps include early and late war France, Poland and BENELUX countries PLUS Indochina (France), PLUS Indonesia (Dutch), PLUS Free Polish and Free France in the various places they fought like the Greece/Balkan campaign, Battle for Italy etc. (eg Polish soldiers fought at Monte Cassino).
