I got this squad a few months ago in Stalingrad. However, I did not get a chance to use this squad very often because I was playing other campaigns.
And now I am back in Stalingrad and using them… but as the description of this premier squad says, it is a very challenging squad!
The most important thing to mention is that the Po-2 is very slow. With a top speed of 150 km/h, it is the slowest of all the aircraft in Enlisted.
It takes the Po-2 twice or three times longer to reach the front line from the spawn point than a normal aircraft, and the same amount of time to refuel.
The slow cruise speed is annoying, but the leisurely flight and good visibility make it useful for reconnaissance missions. The fact that the Po-2 was originally intended as a reconnaissance aircraft adds a nice flavor to the gameplay!
That squad are a lot of fun to play. My one concern, however, is that the team will not be able to launch any decent attack aircraft while flying with this aircraft, which is sad due to the fact that the longer you live with the Po-2, the more trouble you cause your teams, as 80% of the time you are using this aircraft is to and from the supply zone.
So, I am still trying to decide how to use this aircraft.
For reference, I would like to ask, how do other owners who have this aircraft operate it?

(I was thinking of having the pilot girls heavily armed and parachuting in behind enemy territory to sabotage them…but I want to make the most of the PO-2 if I can. lol)

So, this fragility is what I like about it.
The exhilaration of destroying enemy tanks with this aircraft is wonderful.
The only problem is that, as I mentioned at the beginning, such an aircraft also occupies a slot in the team’s attack aircraft.
This is the best aircraft, except that using this aircraft creates a sense of guilt in my heart for the team. One of the most recommended premium squads.
Yes, the Po-2 was very slow and therefore very difficult to shoot down by the Germans. In addition, the slow speed of the Po-2 made it very difficult for the Germans’ Messerschmitt Bf 109s and Focke-Wulf Fw 190s to shoot it down.
Also, when bombing, the Po-2s cut their engines and dropped their bombs while gliding, making them difficult to spot by the Germans, who heard their characteristic wind noise just before they blew themselves up.
The historical “Night Witches” were heroes who achieved great success against the Germans at great cost.
All that matters is that you support your team one way or the other. I’m not the kind of player that shies away from playing certain vehicles just because one of my teammates may have something better. It’s like saying I shouldn’t bother playing as the Panzer IV because someone on the team has a King Tiger, or the Stuart because someone has a Pershing. I’ll play whatever I want. You can support the team no matter what
On a semi related note if we ever got larger modes with more vehicle slots then you’d see a lot more vehicles so you wouldn’t feel bothered about taking up a slot
The plane was originally intended to be used in short nigth raid, the gameplay of enlisted is incompatible with the plane supposed gameplay, but is still a nice collectible item and as paratroopers plane
Yeah, I can half agree with you. But the Po-2 is a very difficult aircraft at the moment.
The Po-2 is also not equipped with a machine gun, so all it can do after dropping bombs is circle around over the front lines to spot tanks, machine guns, and other important targets. If the Po-2 wants to return to its mission as an attack aircraft, it must take three times longer than a normal aircraft to return to the refueling point. lol
It is my opinion at this point that the Po-2 is considerably less capable than a standard early attack aircraft, and at this speed, no matter how technically active you are, you are going to weaken friendly CAS considerably while out on a sortie with this aircraft.
I would like to manage to use it, but it has become a useless unit except when the friendlies are overwhelmingly superior.
If the Po-2 assign least had the same other vehicle slot as a motorcycle or something else that does not occupy a friendly aircraft slot, I could always continue my personal challenge.
Hi! I am of the same opinion.
I think the bottleneck is still that it takes quite a long time to refuel. During that time, CAS against your allies will be suspended.
I find it challenging and fun that these aircraft are so fragile, but more than the personal challenge, the fact that they reduce allied air power is what keeps me from using this unit.
I think it is a perfect SQUAD for the collection.
I just wish the Po-2 supply airspace was a little closer. lol
Well, as you say, maybe the best use is to move to airborne operations after one bombing run.
I gave my girls a Brammit and a pps42 each, tnt and vodka. They’re armed to the teeth and Brammit is useful behind lines (bots react less).
I do this because I found out many kids get really triggered when shot by women characters. It’s hilarious looking at their erratic behaviors trying to get revenge.
