It is nowhere near the MP43 fuck off

But its ammo should still be in line with the other weapons of its class ie SMGs

Realistically it would have been an assaulter only weapon but that ship has sailed

M2 carbine:

  • is basicaly an SMG
  • wasn’t nerfed like a rifle / carbine. Nor were SMGs.
  • has ammo count like SMG

Devs: Let’s give M2 carbine to every trooper because it’s a rifle

I haven’t used it but I have used the M2A1 gold order, and the full auto recoil on it is so horrendous that it’s only good for hipfiring up close, anywhere beyond a few meters and I switch to semi. Granted, semi on it is like a pre nerf M1 Carbine with more ammo, but the M2A1 has more damage than the base M2 so that’s already just a pre nerf M1 Carbine with 2x mag capacity, and imo worse iron sights. It’s not a fair comparison to the STG, but it’s still pretty powerful now due to the semi nerf, giving you the equivalent of a 9 man assaulter squad, although at that point the thompson is probably better due to having less recoil.

the M2 is more CQB oriented and struggles at range while the FG is more versatile, having fast ROF for CQC and good power and accuracy for long range, it’s not comparable to the M2.
