Please return the old repair mechanics, this makes it impossible to repair a tank at nearly any time

lel, my god. i really need to make double language post on maps and gameplay speeds. i wanted to investigate into Zeelow and Konigsberg battles deeply but i think this topic is too urgent to read articles

You mean now they get punished for leaving the greyzone? Because now they get punished for doing field repairs on the frontline but not if in the back.
But was that change really what was asked for? Did so many people complain about tank not useing the greyzone as cover on this forum and instead charge forward?
While beeing new and a bit more realistic it does push players into the wrong direction in my taste.

Greyzoners will remain greyzoners mate, this change is good and faster, but no more sitting at rear of tank repairing in total safety…

They why bothere changing it if it changes nothing?
So far frontline tanking was risky but possible but just got so much harder…

people want to repair the tank in the middle of the crossfire lol

Do you prefere greyzone camper just nuking the enemy spawn?
It is more than viable but not that fun for both sides.

How often is your tank getting damaged by to the point you can’t retreat to cover to repair? I drive tanks a lot and I find the situation that I need to repair under fire to be extremely rare.

I’m genuinely surprised how many people apparently hop out of their tank immediately on taking damage to hide under it while repairing under fire. I rarely even bother repairing in most situations; either I get out and play with my remaining crew as infantry, or I’m finished off before I have a chance. If I do decide to repair I always try to find some cover first.

This is a bunch of hyperbolic nonsense.

Have fun driving away with destroyed engine or track…
I used to brawl a lot with PZ 4e and PZ F1 even before F2 was added in moscow and with ATR spam tracks were contantly broken and even failed explosive packs just shreded them. But tanking on the frontline was fun as you could actively clear the entire objective and push the defender even futher back with the short 75 and still could survive till ammo ran out due to short breaks in the fighting where allies could take over. This was peak teamwork between tank and infantry.
But with the current repair you only get greyzone camping for the most kills as there you dont have to deal with infantry damaging your tank.

So please take a step back and reflect if greyzoning is really worth defending over true infantry support.
I dont care that you only managed to die on the frontlinem, some people exell on the frontline and can really push with the right tank and support.

I know that i can still greyzone like the rest where this new change doesnt affect me much but greyzoning cant compete with close infantry support in terms of fun and teamwork. My problem is with the new repair just restricing playstyles and punishing tanks for leaving the greyzone at all.

Sitting in the grey zone isn’t the only other option, that’s just a straw man argument that ignores the other options you have.

Try adapting to the new system instead of just a knee jerk reaction to run to the forum to complain after one day

But if i leave the greyzone intantry can you pop a tack and your basicly dead.
Tanks always where fragile but now they are intantly cippeled.

And could you please then tell me my othere options? Just to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Bummer, one of the more annoying parts of the game is harder to use. I feel so bad for the people who hide in tanks the whole game, must be terrible having to use infantry squads :joy:

You will get used to it soon.

It requires some changes on the way one approach a repair on a armored vehicle, but, it’s more fair this way.

Way more fair.

It’s not get on the cover of the tank engine behind sight to repair the barrel no more.
Users have to know and decide if it’s worth the risk to go outside, if they have cover or, if they can repair the damage without getting demolished.

To bad this change only really affects the tanks on the frontline and not the one just camping in the greyzone just farming with HE.

So you’re saying in the past, you were getting tracked every time you poked you nose out, but you could just pop out of your tank and fix it and then just keep going; and now that’s impossible?

That just seems really unlikely to me. In the instances that I’ve been disabled by an AT rifle in the past, they would just keep shooting out components until I died or killed them. If I tried to jump out to repair without dealing with them I would just be tracked again at best. How is that different than now?

Those ATR just got 75mm HE in their face and i could repair those few parts they managed to damage from the safety of my tank. But now i need to dodge every single sniper and rifleman and cant just lie down to repair and try to be done before they can push the inactive tank. But now i need to do a marathon everytime I want to repair the tracks on the other side of the tank.

They still have to stand in front of their tank to repair the barrel. Track and frack, just like in WT.

Not understanding how this isn’t common knowledge.

Because this is how you use arms that usually fought at distances of 300m, usually more.
A KV1 at 25m is like begging to get hit by explosives with no effort.

If you need to repair your tank first you already lost the tank duel which is about the only thing that could hurt your tank in the greyzone ( bombs dont count as they are once and done regarding theat). So nothing changes.

But infantry is king at wrecking tank modules. Be is the worst detpack throws somehow still destroying your tracks or laucher/ AT rifle.

I am awear how it work…
This does not matter to the same extend as on the frontline as your already shielded from random infantry in the greyzone interfering in the repairs and having to repair a tank in a duel means you already lost regardless of how the repair works.

As long as you fix the track and the engine, you can run to a safe place to repair the tank. It’s the same as before, nothing difficult.
