The 50rnd Thompson has a dispersion of .71; which is no worse than most of the 30rnd thompsons, and matches the average of most nations smgs.
It’s likely a combination of the dispersion, low velocity, and comparatively high horizontal recoil that makes accuracy so poor. Muzzle flash and obstructive sights don’t help either.
Also it’s unnatural that the back sights of the gun move more than the front sights when the gun is shouldered. That’s not how real guns work by the demands of physics. There’s is no other video game where the back end of the gun wiggles around as much as in enlisted. Maybe if we had a clear sight picture it wouldn’t be so bad.

I think they should stay where they are, and gaijin should just add a new one with a 20rnd mag instead and put that at rank 2 like with the marine raider squads Thompsons I think that’s a fair compromise.

I think Thompsons should deal the same damage per bullet as STGs, so that they become deadlier than STGs in close range because of higher rate of fire - while having much bigger damage drop off at medium ranges.
Also they absolutely need some easier to use sights.

I like the idea, but…
What about premium para Thompson? It would be way too OP imho.

That would either imply a blanket buff on all .45 ACP guns or giving thompsons special treatment which increases the inconsistency of guns in the game.
I’d prefer not to have either scenario happen and would rather that their handling be improved, instead.

Too be honest .45 ACP is way too weak it’s not going to kill a bear but it sure as hell will kill a Man instantly at close to mid-range.

It doesn’t have to be this bad if Darkflow realizes you aren’t supposed to put your cheek right behind the bolt…
100 Round Thompson should be performing like a MG anyways - think about the weight alone.
And other than that? If I am thinking about 45 acp in general, what weapon would be too strong by that logic? Grease Gun? Wouldn’t hurt if that one performed better, so that it could get put into higher BRs since it is a rather late war weapon.
All the other Thompsons can have their BRs adjusted. In the end i believe the US is lacking in selectfire assaultrifles - so a particularly strong SMG would make the faction interesting.
That’s right. It should get penalisation to movement speed just like Sphitalniy.

.45 ACP is alright, and a subsonic round is just that, is not meant to fight mid-long range, buffing its damage will make the .30 Tommy indifferent
I agree to this.
While I use the box grip tommy extensively at br 5, I cannot say it compares to a ppd40 for example.
Also I don’t mind drum tommy being 4, and also think ppsh41 would fit well in 4, too.
Eh… it’s a good smg but not THAT good. Definitely not the best. Kiraly has really bad handling (crazy horizontal recoil). It’s REALLY FUN to use. But ppsh everyday, any day. It was proven in Stalingrad with axis having access to both, and most players preferring ppsh to kiraly.

Well Thompsons are notorious for being very heavy for a SMG.
If you are comparing Thompson to PPSH, you will have 3.5 KGs vs 5 KGs - without ammo.
So this alone is a pretty big weight difference, now 45 ACP is also a much bigger round than 7.62 tokarev. A 50 round thompson mag weights I believe a bit more than a 71 PPSH mag. So a 100 round mag for a Thompson should bring the weapon close to 9 KGs if I am not mistaken - which is crazy for such class of weapon.
Weight gets very close to being a LMG.

If we’re delving into the sciencey bits, more weight generally means less recoil.
V = − m v M
But Enlisted is nowhere near as realistic. I wouldn’t call that a proper rationale.

So Japanese AT rifle Type 97 should be basically without any recoil at all with its 57kg weight.
I don’t understand how this logic can be real.
That’s how it would logically work.
A guy that’s somehow carrying a cannon will fly off along with it when it’s fired, but if the same cannon is mounted on a tank it barely moves.
In other words
Thicc is better.

Oh it absolutely is real, there are many professional shooters that specifically add weight to their rifles to have smoother recoil.
Mass absorbs recoil - go kick a microwave and it will move, and then go kick a oven it will move less, simple as that.
Generally speaking, a well made gun will have less weight while also still having less recoil.
The FG42 is pretty light for what it is - however it also is according to many professional shooters pretty easy to control - because it is designed very well.
