Please give us weapon limits in OBT

So you will have to find a solution for the issue he raised.

what issue?

If he wants to have full StG squads… that’s his issue
But if you really want me to solve his problem, here I go

Weapon limits (situation 1)
When a ‘‘rare’’ or ‘‘super rare’’ type gun is unlocked, he can arm his favourite squad member with it
If he dies, he can pick up a weapon from his dead buddy
If he dies again, he can’t use that weapon again

Weapon limits (situation 2)
I unlock the PPSh-41
PPSh-41 is ‘‘uncommon’’ class while PPD is common class
I can only arm one guy in my squad with PPSh while the other 2 are armed with PPD’s

No limits (situation 1)
Player unlocks an StG-44
Player unlocks some more StG-44’s thorough lootboxes
Player arms his whole squad with StG’s
Player dies
No worries, he has 6 more of them

no limits (situation 2)
This already happened to me
I unlock the Winchester m1895
I gain some more Winchesters
I make a whole army of riflemen all armed with winchesters

I’m talking about the issue of “spare guns” and not being able to use them even if you paid for them with real money.

With ‘‘rare’’ and ‘‘super rare’’ weapons, spare guns only work as a way of upgrading guns

But devs DID announce a new upgrade system so I was hoping they are giving us sidegrades or less p2w stars

You mean premium squads?

Can you give more explanation, I don’t know what you are talking about

No way should there be a limit of only one of any weapon type for a squad. And an easy way around this is expand on the system of only certain troops being able to carry a weapon. In the case of the Stg 44 that we’ve been talking about, the class that unlocks it is the only class that can use it. We’ll call this class Trooper III in this situation. Upon unlocking Trooper III class, you will have a limit to how many trooper 3s you can have in a squad. This could range anywhere from 0-3 (0 for tanks, snipers, etc; 3 for the Trooper III’s Squad). Overall there would also be a trooper limit. For example, the base trooper squad fully upgraded could run up to 7 troopers of any type. However, there would be a max of 7 Trooper Is, 5 Trooper IIs, and 2 Trooper 3s. You would have to choose how to distribute the different troopers in this squad. This would also stick to historical lines, where different troops using different guns would make up a squad.

But how does the game decide you got enough of these to max out the ONE gun you may use for that one that’s limited to 1?

This would probably be a pretty elegant solution towards limiting weapons. Limiting them without actually limiting them x)

It’s like what they did with World of Warcraft:
Instead of limiting XP if you play too long,
Give XP boost at the start of a session.

It does the exact same thing, but is formatted as reward instead as punishment.

We see it currently with snipers, pretty easy to implement and makes sense from all perspectives. Soldiers were trained with one weapon and weren’t masters of all. So expand upon that in game so that way soldiers like trooper II and sniper II aren’t just soldiers with new perks

I do think there should then be a limit towards the maximum amount of “assaulter” etc squads so you cant run 3x assaulter.

I still don’t understand, sorry
I guess lowering the random factor could solve this

I agree with your idea

BUT

Having a squad that can equip 3 guys with StG-44 is not a small number either
And I want to know how will we limit other rare guns like Gewehr 98 which was announced

We would limit other guns the same way, with only certain soldiers trained in that gun capable of running them. And this 3 man limit would be just for the specific squad that runs that gun. Most squads would max out at 1 and some squads might get 2, but only the Trooper III squad could run 3. And that squad could be balanced by being of a smaller squad size (maybe only a 5 man squad for example).

Random lootcrate gives random weapon, yes?

You use spare guns to upgrade guns you want to be improved, yes?

What happens if you need 10 guns to upgrade 1, but you have 12 guns in total?

You will be “punished” for collecting 12 guns while you only need 10, wasting 2 weapon orders on guns that you cannot use now your one gun is upgraded. And if the monetization stuff allowed you buy said 2 weapon orders, you have now wasted money.

And what happens if you get more than those 12 guns later down the line?

Well let’s say you upgrade a gun to max level and can’t get it in Orders anymore because you got the unlimited number of guns that can be collected
That’s not hard to develop imo

That’s actually a nice idea for weapon limits
I still love my idea more but I’m glad players are being creative regarding weapon limits

But what if your upgrade fails and you can’t get more guns because the game thinks you got enough? Or get more of them than you need before you decide to start upgrading?

“Simply” removing them from the drop tables will not account for edge cases and will cause issues.

Read the OBT reveal devlog

Still will not account for the random amount of parts per gun

We already have this, you can’t have 9 Assault troopers in one squad. Nor can you have 6 engineers in one squad.

Some will be better armed than others.

It’s more akin to how premium assaulters =/= assaulters. Except these “premium assaulters” carrying StG44s would’t be premium, but limited in the same way.

Now that you agreed with @21557209 you feel the need to crush my suggestion

You are wery mean asking me that

If devs introduce weapon limits, off course they will adjust the system not to be buggy and full of issues (at least I hope they will)

Now you are asking me questions like I have to program a game by myself

You are basically railroading me and manipulating this post with random questions regarding rewards system that can last forever

Wery uncool bro
If you disagree with my suggestion please just say so
Instead of this what you’re doing now

I agree with the concept, but have to reconsider my former agreement with your specific implementation after considering the feedback given. I am not some dude who cannot be argued with.

So I decided to give you some food for thought to make it so I can agree with your implementation again.

And the developers have to make this work if they were to implement this, so you must make sure it is technically feasible to implement.
