I get it you dont want somebody to spawn hide and get an unfair advantage
But why oh why if im sending my troops up a mountain or across a river, if it is more than 20 seconds away from me they instinctively come back to me!
WHY?
You want to be like reality
In reality soldiers dont think we dont see the officer anymore but even though he gave us orders lets just leave the orders and go back to find him
Its ridiculous and it super kills the immersion of using your team to flank or other tactics when you know as soon as you are several feet away it automaticly cancels it.
And on the subject of its done to stop people spawn camping/hiding their troops
If they really wanted to stop unfair advantage they would stop enemy being able to sit in their safe zone with their tanks and fire at you, (when you cant do anything you cant bomb them as its out of range, and if you try come near them, the system auto slays you). So i dont buy the its for fair balance
policy.
Maybe a good suggestion is if its beyond a certain range, your teammates wont hear you and you need to go closer to them.
But to have them automaticaly return is just totaly nonsensical.
In what war ever unless you have a deserter, do a squad who have been given an order leave their position because you are out of sight?
