It would be great to have the lead indicators fixed, especially on planes that fire dramatically different projectile sizes (13mm MGs and 30mm Cannons, 30mm Cannons and 37mm Cannon, etc).
I was watching a video from ParaDivison earlier and he mentioned that the lead indicator takes the average of the two projectiles to create the aiming circle, which is pretty much useless when dealing with armaments that different from one another in speed and size.
Can we have two indicators for weapons (if firing different kinds), or just a significant update to how things are calculated for the planes using armaments like this?
Getting air-to-air kills with the K-4 and D-12 (when you still have 30mm ammo) is guess work at best, sorcery any other time. It’s great that the K-4 is usable at BR5 now with the bomb load out, let’s get the sights up to par with our allied friends and have some level playing grounds.

I mean…all you have to do is land a single shot. Can’t be that hard. Meanwhile we can dump half our entire ammo load into you and you fly just fine cause I guess we’re only using Ball and T .50 BMG instead of API-T
hardly…The lead indicator already does the hard work for you. Not hard to aim in front of the lead indicator when you know you are using bigger cannons (slower velocity shells, more time to target, therefore more lead). You only need 1 hit with the 30mm
I dont much like the lead indicator, But I am greatful you still need at least “a smidge” of know how to abuse it

It’s honestly not that simple; allied planes using the same guns ×6 or ×8 with extremely accurate lead indicators wipe the floor with German air at BR5, not to mention the turn radius US and Soviet planes have.
If your thoughts are “the indicator is already doing most of the hard work” , then we should just get rid of them /s eye roll
I’ve been playing this game for coming up on 3 years, and this has been a problem for the longest time. These issues aren’t nearly as prevalent in War Thunder, and I don’t know why it’s such a big deal to implement them here. Heaven forbid the allies have even a smidge of a fair fight in the air.
Just want to point out that;
While It does suck that 190 flight models are cactus, (they really need to give them some attention)
Really 109s and Fiats should be wiping the floor with anything short of a Tempest (premiuim) or Spitfire (BR 2) against allies. I know those are the only 2 planes I am even slightly concerned about when flying (and nearly no one will use a spitfire because it has no bombs, and you cant buy tempest anymore)
The 109 and fiat fighters have a faster turn rate and a smaller radius.
Its not that The germans “fighters” cant fight Allies, its just that their fighters dont have HUGE payloads like HVAR or large bomb loadouts so players dont like to play them…So Allied planes done often get hassled.

and while the Soviets Mostly have better Fighters than the 109s, The Fiat is still a great opotion as it can still outturn them.
This Patch Just made the K-4 even more worth while. Pretty happy about that.
Dual lead indicators at the same time might get a bit confusing. The cannon indicator would be swinging wildly all over the screen during dogfights while the MG indicator does little circles near the enemy plane.
I’m down for dual lead indicators if it’s something we can toggle on/off. I personally think a better option would be to use the cannon zero for your lead indicator by default, but when the cannon/cannons run out of ammo the lead indicator then switches to your MG zero. Cannons almost always run out of ammo first anyway, leaving hundreds of rounds of MG ammunition unfired.

This is actually a fantastic idea, and I wish the devs would see it!
Dollars to donuts it won’t happen because it isn’t in WT.
