Please do get rid of the "kill cam" already

  1. Give the HUD bearing element like in Squad/HLL
  2. Make it so that your squad member yell “sniper, bearing 264, 200 meters” after you’re dead
  3. Go hunt the sniper

No killcam but still killcam-ish enough. The perfect compromise.

Then this simulation is bad AF, because by that argument, those brainless bots should at least start shooting in direction they have “seen bullets coming from” instead of standing still. But regardless of the fact that everyone in Enlisted have tracer rounds, lets not forget that bots don’t even see anyone standing next to them.
I would much rather have them mark enemies in some way instead of telepathically revealing where enemy could be after one member gets killed.
Oh and thats weird, one member? WHY then my squad mates dont “tell me” of enemy location when one of them gets killed instead of me? Suddenly they’re becoming mute?

No one should ever get rewarded with few seconds of wallhack because of getting killed.

Also most of people leave useless bots in closed and safe spaces and fight with just one soldier. How does that simulate the fact we aren’t alone? When one gets killed and immediately switch to a new avatar and revenge kill the one who have shot him?

Kill cam is stupid and it should be at least optional.

The snipers didn’t make it unfun in heroes and generals; people are just too damned lazy to properly hunt down and eliminate a sniper without a kill cam.

Developers seem to be dumbing down all games these days for this reason!

would removal of kill cam be better for the game?
for snipers and tanks, yes.
for everyone else, no.

Yep I do that as well actually, leave the squad somewhere safe and move out as far as I can without them to fight (since they are pretty brainless and attract too much attention), then relocate the squad, once I have a new location for them to wait (sometimes I just dig them a nice foxhole with the shovel, if there is nothing else available), while I fight on. It is weird as many players throw away the lives of their squads, while I always try my best to preserve their lives and not have them just run a beeline to the objective, right into the line of fire of the enemy MGs…

@robihr - Like I said I do not like kill cams in general and I absolutely think that there should be no “handholding” mechanics like kill cams at all (the only exception would be games where you respawn at a base or where you do not get to respawn - and even then I switch those off if there is an option). I do play mostly infantry, and if I overlook a sniper because I did not take the time to really look around (hells we have BINOCULARS!) and I get killed it is my fault, same with tanks that get me - it means I overlooked it and have to pay the price. BUT I should not just get served the enemies head on a platter - and that is what those IMHO stupid kill cams are - because it was my fault that I got killed. If a tank or sniper or assault squad gets a good position or manages to flank me they did a good job and I and my team did a bad one. That is why I always mark enemies if I see fire coming from a position or see a suspicious guy running around far away since it is a good chance that it is a sniper.

People should have to actually LOOK around and use the bloody binoculars (!) to look around, and not charge forward headless and then get rewarded for being lazy or doing something stupid. I do not mind getting killed if the enemy made a better move, next time I will be more careful. I do not WANT nor NEED handlholding → the constant dumbing down of games and game mechanics should STOP for heaven sake!

Game would be better if people would learn how to mark, thats all what’s needed to solve such of an issue. If one cant take notice of big traced rounds flying around the map then its his problem.
Sometimes I feel like Im playing with some toddlers that need to be held by hand in everything

No kill cam!

It can take a long time to develop a good sniping position just to have it ruined by the first person you kill. It’s unreasonable for snipers to have to constantly move their position after each kill to preserve a hidden position. Time and effort! How much time and effort does it take for the person who gets a free kill cam shot? Zero!

Before kill cams were a thing, locating and hunting down a sniper was a skill that you needed to develop—not to mention the satisfaction (and fun) it was to hunt them down. Then kill cams came along and made everybody lazy and stupid—and completely ruined the sniper class. Just my opinion.

I could not agree more! It is not only snipers though (and every good sniper will change positions on their own after a few successful kills anyway) but concerns all others as well - no matter if it is infantry that manages to outflank your own guys or lay a good ambush position, paratroopers that manage to land in your rear or an MG/AT gun or tank that manages to find a good hidden spot to shoot from → and even all of them will not stay put forever but move on (as the battelfield moves on and the enemies move on and if you shoot too long from the same spot you will be spotted - EVEN WITHOUT kill cam!) Kill cams reward mistakes and being lazy - and that should not be the case.

Many gamers today seem to be so used to a “no or little effort” mentality and constant “handholding” - makes me sad as this has really grown completely out of proportion in the past decade IMHO

so you are having problem with one handholding mechanism, but you are ok with the other? marking tanks and enemies is also unrealistic mechanism. then we can also talk about direction markers when you are hit. i found lots of enemies when they hit me with direction marker. we can also talk about whole HUD.

this is relatively fast paced arcade game where lives are expandable and you need to fight for cap. sniping and camping is in general bad playstyle for this game and that why it is ok to have extra downsides.

if this was different type of game where lives mattered and it was more slow paced then i would definitely support removing of kill cam. but with current state of game where lots of players play worse than bots, kill cam is ok.

@robihr - Sure do away with marking enemies altogether → I for one would be absolutely OK with that and having to tell teammates in chat where the enemy is hiding! (i.e. giving them compass bearings etc.)

The only “slight” problem that might come up in this case is people that play on consoles (without the ability to type in messages) and worse if the rest of the team does not understand English … - …and that is why the marking of enemies is a “crutch” that is probably needed to span the language & console-PC barrier).

We would also need a friend text chat option then as well, if you coordinate with the friends you are teamed up with (why that is not available in game I still do not understand).

ALL so very true!

But, that would require good tactics—and that, once again, requires time and effort. Unfortunately, the only thing people seem to care about is “running & gunning,” and who has the most kills—which is why teams are constantly in need of spawn points & ammo boxes. If I had a dollar for every time somebody requested a spawn point or ammo box, I’d be rich. I usually respond, “We don’t need a spawn point, you need an engineer.” Then I put one up.

I hate the kill cam. I find a really good spot as a sniper or an machine gunner, I kill one guy and then he just switches soldiers and kills me. Its so annoying. This punishes skilled and creative players while rewarding brain-dead gameplay.

Especially for suppressed weapons.

Facts. Especially with partisan squads. I set my bots to dont shoot and they kill a guy anyway (we weren’t even getting shot at) and then we all die.

well i find sniping neither skilled nor creative nor fun. if there was no kill cam you would have loads of campers sniping from bushes or some obscure buildings making game no fun for most players.

That is literally the purpose of sniping. In a real war people aren’t going to sit and complain about snipers, instead, they will try to come up with ways to avoid the sniper or even take them out. Therefore, rewarding people who use their brains and don’t play like idiots.

then go play sniper elite, arma or HLL. this is not the game for sniping and roleplaying zaitsev while other people need to play find the waldo on big map with million hiding spots.

Big dog, snipers are literally useless if they don’t play like “milsim players”
