I know that they can theoretically destroy even a King Tiger with a SUPER well placed shot, but people rarely IF EVER use mortars, so I think that changing their BR to BR III would make them more viable, it’s not fair that we can have a Panzerfaust at BR III and not an objectively worse piece of equipment that on 1 squad type can use in a BR where they face of against jets, like, come on, mortars where a vital piece of equipment in the battlefield in WW2 and they being so high up makes little to no sense.
Please take it in consideration, thanks as always for reading, appreciate it.

I would greatly appreciate such a change, especially if Japan and the US could finally get their too.

meanwhile Japan cries in corner. Still haven’t a mortar for high BR.

It’s true that the 8cm mortars are very underrated and powerful, so much that I wouldn’t want to see them get nerfed. I became quite good at destroying tanks with it. First direct shell usually disables a track or lands on the engine deck, second or third one is the grace shot. It’s probably the perfect weapon for hunting tanks because of indirect fire, this is it’s biggest advantage as you can be concealed and mark the enemy tank, and just keep firing. But for this same reason it’s very easy to spam without consequence. A tank HE spammer is immediately exposed once it fires. Because if it can see you, you can see it. On the other hand a mortar doesn’t have this limitation.
So yeah, quite easy to spam, that’s no secret. And maybe 8/10 players will probably be found using it for infantry most of the time, instead of tanks.

Well yes, I would love for them to be able to be used in a much more varied arrangement of BRs instead of them just being confined to the sweatfest that is BR V

True that, same for me. BR V has definitely become too sweaty lately to enjoy using mortars right now (the battlefield changes too fast) Now imagine if we could employ mortars not just in specific squads but in other configurations. The same way we do with LMG, AT, Radioman, etc. The lack of versatility of a mortar squad is also why it’s rarely seen.

I WOULD LOOOVE for more squads to be able to use them, the Japanese were famous for having them everywhere, at least they should have them
Oh yeah. And not only that but the doctrine of firing it at 45 degrees angle. The Japanese “knee mortar”, although technically it was classified as a grenade launcher by their army and was misnamed by the troops that faced it. And it wasn’t fired from the knee either. But it was so light to carry and quick to fire that US troops thought it was being fired that way. (And there’s anecdotes of soldiers breaking bones trying to fire it that way, lol)

If we could fire while laying prone the same way in Enlisted it would be like the Japanese’s own version of the Soviets RMN-50 although this one was actually widely issued (not saying that makes any difference in this game). It would be 50mm of explosive power at the ready with a fair drawback of having to lay prone to fire. I wouldn’t mind the Japanese having only the Type 89 for all I care, if we had this unique feature among the other factions mortars.
